Guys, I am a big Vikings fan and I have always been a real big supporter of Daunte Culpepper. However, this really isn't The Culpepper number 11 of the Minnesota Vikings. You can see how he isn't as mobile as before and THAT IS A MAJOR PART OF HIS GAME. His struggles are do to the fact that he can't move in and out of the pocket like he could before, and can't roll out, scramble or buy more time like he was able to before. He says he's 100 percent, but like London Fletcher and Troy Vincent said, he is nowhere near it, thats why they blitzed the crap outa him and he was inefficient yesterday. GUYS, DON'T GIVE UP ON HIM!!! This was a guy who broke Dan Marinos record for most yards from scrimmage in 2004 and he did it with RANDY MOSS injured or inactive for most of the season!! You guys have great weapons in Miami for him to get the ball to, BUT HE NEEDS TO GET ON THE SAME PAGE AND BUILD CONFIDENCE WITH CHRIS CHAMBERS, because when he threw it to him yesterday, you could see the makings of a great Duo. HE is still a top 5 qb, HOWEVER, HE NEEDS TO STILL RECOVER FROM HIS KNEE INJURY AND BUILD CONFIDENCE WITH THE PLAYERS YOU HAVE HERE. Once he has his confidence and is able to move alot better, he will return to his once great form. JUST REMEMBER, he is a scrambling qb, imagine MIKE VICK, VINCE YOUNG, or even DONOVAN MCNABB without legs and you could see it when Mcnabb had that hernia how terrible he was. Culpepper is a steal from you guys and ID RATHER HAVE HIM OVER BRAD JOHNSON the old fart anyday. Just don't boo him for Joey Harrington because that is ******ed. A Healthy Culpepper has the potential to do anything any other qb in the nfl can do.

Yeah, Daunte got sacked like 5 times in the 1st quarter, that is pathetic, but right now and even in the preseason, this wasn't Culpepper on the Vikings. The old Daunte could fake out db's and would run 50 yards a game to pick up key first downs. Just give him some time, you can see how he has the best deep arm in the nfl. I think Saban is going to tell him to take more shots downfield. Right now, Culpepper is not taking chances and is playing nervous. He is still a great qb, just give it some time.

I agree with everything you said, it showed yesterday that he wasn't 100% healed from his knee surgery. I hope he didnt come back too soon and does some more damage to his knee because he is the quarterback of the future.

hahahah @ using logic over here... We expect players to come back from three torn ligaments in a matter of months and play like they did during their best season. Not only that.. we expect him to do it on a new team and do it right away. Why? because its the finheaven way.. Its the way of the man boobied monday morning QB.

Sure it is.

He looked even worse last year before his injury didn't he?

If the O-line improves, maybe the team can be put on Ronnies back. I think Daunte needs the focus to be put on someone else. His confidence must be shaken and he is a notoriously emotional player...

If we can run the ball really well maybe he can turn it around, but I think putting any focus on our passing game is a mistake right now...

He is a mental basketcase right now, but the tools are the same. You are seeing exactly what Culpepper is made of when he can't trust the mobility part of his game. The question is, how long will it take him to get that back?

To recover from 3 torn ligaments in that short amount of time is amazing, but I can see it in his face how cautious he is. Before he got injured he was alot more of a risk taker, which he won most of the times. Guys, he isn't as smart as Tom Brady, Peyton Manning or Jake Delhomme, but he can do things they could only dream of.

Well I hope it isn't the same Culpepper from 05,,he was pathetic, but it looks like we got the same guy. :boohoo:

Thanks for joining here and writing the great post, it's good to hear what other fans think, especially the ones who really know Daunte... not the so-called "dolfans" that are bashing him and are already asking to bring Fiedler back :shakeno: ...

I totally support Daunte and hopefully he will get in rythm soon

Ok first of all, LAST YEAR He was sacked 31 times in 5 games. WE had no RUNNING GAME, our offensive line was the worst with 8 false start and holding penalties a game and we had a freaking offensive line coach being our coordinator, meaning our playbook was horrendous. Most of the time we were losing 14-0 in the first quarter because our defense was abseloute garbage and Culpepper was just in a horrible position. You put Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Mcnabb or Vick in that situation and they wouldn't do any better either.

I think that is a bad analogy. Those guys have all played in the PLAYOFFS, I'm not so sure that they have less talent either.

They can think of things that he can't even dream of, would be more accurate...

We support Daunte all the way, he'll be fine.

The sad part about that is fans are already off the daunte bandwagon....which is freakin sad. When I have to read threads about starting harrington it makes me sick. Harrington is not half the QB Daunte is, end of story.

It's so funny how everyone connects his sucess to Randy Moss when his best season moss was inactive for 4 games and played sparingly in the other 3. If it's just because of Moss, How come Kerry Collins or Aaron Brooks didnt have any success with Moss.

His favorite target was Nate Burleson, a typical number 2 wideout, who Chris Chambers is far better than, and Jermaine Wiggins, a tight end with soft hands who is built like a clown, who is not even in the same sentence as Randy Mcmichael. with Michael Benett injured, our best runninback, who Ronnie Brown is better than, he still put up these numbers. Im sick of everyone who puts him down, even Brett Favre, one of the greatest qb's of all time said that anyone who beleives Daunte is anything short of a top qb has no common sense.

Id also like to see any qb throw a laser pass right in front of the face of a blitzing defender, who Daunte threw to Welker many times against Pittsburgh while being blitzed many times off the edge by Ike Taylor, Joey Porter, Clark Haggans and Deshea Townsend.
