I don't think it's gay, just kinda bland. I am building a Shelby Cobra kit car that will be painted in Phins colors. I just need to come up with a wicked paint scheme for it. Trust me, with the 580 bhp 383 Stroker (yes, it's built on a Vette frame) that I am am dropping in it, nobody will be laughing at the paint job.
