Tonight I'm hearing that the recievers let down Gus but, let's look back shall we, vs. Chicago DT dropped a perfect pass from aj but nothin is said bout the wr letting him down. And last week Newson made no attempt to break up the Int aj threw, but hell i guess that was aj's fault completely. And now for once give aj the respect to use the same excuses you use for Gus use for him.

4 of Frerotte's incompletions were flat our DROPS by McMichael.

I never have said anything about the recievers dropping ball for gus more than touchy and vice versa. I leave that **** for children.

REEEEALLY getting sick of the constant AJ verse Gus BS here. Previously it was the Aj verse Jay BS. Can we please move on as a forum? Are we Dolphin fans or "who's the better bottom of the barrell QB" fans?

I agree, they both suck...maybe we should try drafting some first round talent...I know a first round qb'd take a couple years to develop, but that'd be better than waiting FIVE YEARS and being in the exact same place you started.

We shouldn't have to make excuses for either of them. It becomes more clear every week that QB is out weakest position and needs to be addressed in next years draft.

The quarterback has to be one of your best players on the team to have continued success. Yes there are the Trent Dilfer one year wonder exceptions but on a whole you need the qb to be one of your best players. So why is miami tag teaming one 34 year old retread and one never will be and while so many other teams have 2nd and 3rd string qbs that we give the key to the city if they played for us. Why is it we undervalue the qb position. Why Bring in a 34 year old qb during a rebuilding process to start. fu## that go get a couple young qbs and develope them. This isn't rocket science. Why do we struggle at this. Saban knew or should have know that are qb play was the worst in the league last year and his anserw is gus. Saban go find you a qb. But please use the draft and not the nfl celebrity golf tour.

Are you friggin serious???? ALL the excuses for AJ last year........"He's new" "He needs time" "There's no Running game" "The O-line sucks" "he was never given a fair chance" "he should have started camp as the starter" "He's basically a rookie" "so and so dropped the ball" "he was playing hurt" "it's Wannstedts fault" "It's Ricky Williams Fault" and my personal favorite.......... "He was unlucky"
The thing is nobody can really come up with any excuses for AJ because they Were ALL USED LAST SEASON!!!!!

I agree! Why does everything anybody says have to be taken as a bash against one QB or the other? As far as the last time I checked both Gus and A.J. are Miami Dolphin QBs (not saying I am happy about either one of them). Why can't we just talk about the team as a whole or better yet a position as a whole? Does anyone really care who is starting as long as they are winning? I mean GEEZ it sounds like half the people in here are related to one QB or the other or they have bet the farm that one or the other is playing! WHO CARES! I love the Dolphins as a team and I don't care if A.J., Gus, Sage, Berlin, Couch, or Santa Claus is starting QB, all I want is for someone to WIN!

Again tonight with the way our Oline played and balls were dropped and no one could hold onto the ball, Manning probably would have fumbled or threw picks when you have half of the Steelers in your face most of the night!

I think we all need to sit back and truly read what you said and let it sink in.

You are absolutely right.

I used to be that way but have let myself fallinto the taking sides game.

The fact is that I am a Miami Dolphin fan. Not a Chamers fan or a Feeley fan but a Miami Dolphins fan. If I were to base my love for a team based on 1 player I would have stopped being a fan when Marino retired

Ok listen...

This QB war on this site doesn't end...

Here is A.J. Feeley's performance based on Feeley supporters:

"He did well and deserves to start"

Here is A.J. Feeley's performance based on Frerotte supporters:

"He sucks, he only threw short passes"

Look I was a big Feeley supporter, but lately I kind of want it to go to the best man, who was Gus. But Feeley outplayed Gus tonight PERIOD.

both guys sucked. Frerotte couldn't complete a pass when he played (although he had a LOT of drops by players), and all his yardage came from that ONE welker play.

Feeley played against 2nd and 3rd stringers, and on top of that only had short outs and passes out of the backfield.

so technically both guys sucked. i don't think Feeley would have done any better versus the first string Pitt D. Keep in mind Frerotte had like 5 drops alone during his time.

the fumbles made both QBs look worse than they really were just because no points were put up.

I don't care who caught what and who dropped what or who threw them, in this game or any other. Frerotte challenges the opposition down the field and Feeley does not.

In fact, I regret mentioning the drops in a post in another thread. I wouldn't have done so except I still can't believe we forfeited a star talent like Ogunleye for a little mediocrity like Marty Booker. So when he botches something I'm pieved. The deep play tonight was underthrown and a basic jump ball in which any competent receiver is supposed to out-instinct and outjump the defender. All Marty Booker could manage was a slight adjustment and feeble leap. You're never going to get an interference call when you're that bland. Plus the deep sideline pass was hardly an impossible catch yet Booker never got his hands or body in the correct position. A top caliber WR would have made a nice catch with outstretched arms or a semi-dive catch.

I didn't mind the McMichael drops. Just a bizarre off night from a top notch player. But it was comical to think what the reaction would have been on this forum if the same performance had been turned in by Donald Lee. I used the word gullotine in another thread and that's probably a light sentence.
