That's 1.57 INTs per start. AJ has 1.6 INTs per start after 13.
 
The article said Leaf was intercepted 36 times. I' like to add that it is a big "reach" to compare the two.

AJ has had eight game starts with this team. He shared the practice reps with the eventual starter. He did nothing to embarass the team publicly even though the team was publicly a mess.

Ryan Leaf knew he would be the starter for 21 games. The author is correct, Leaf was an embarrassment for the Chargers on and OFF the field.
