This is starting to look bad for miami dolphins

I wanted Sherman gone but...

1. Can't run Max protect when none of your TE's can block. Hinders your ability to spread the field on offense. We max protected but it was pointless.

2. Can't bootleg when McKinnie and Clabo can't slide. They would have given up 100 sacks if we bootlegged. Maybe 1-2 times per game, but it would have been destroyed.

1. You can put and extra lineman in there as a TE

2. Why only 1-2 times? The few times they did do it it worked most of the time. Maybe if teams think Tannehill is going to do it more it would keep them pinning the ears back and coming downhill on the pocket.

Reading through these posts is quite funny. Where do you think the media gets is perception? Everyone on here is dogging Sherman and making it seem like he's the reason why we sucked. I hated the guy and thought he should've been fired a while back, BUT...let's not sit here and ignore the fact that we need a guy that can find talent and build a team properly, we need a coach that isn't a robotic jackass and most importantly we STILL need to find out if Tannehill is the answer at QB. Sherman wasn't the sole reason why were 15-17 the past two years and haven't been relevant for decades. Sherman is gone which is great, but like the OP stated, house cleaning from top to bottom is what we really need.

Max protection can sometimes hinder your pass protection, it allows the D to send another rusher so you don't gain anything and if the lineman can't pass protect as a lineman what makes you think he will be able to pass protect as a TE?

National response to Sherman's firing is not good folks! Responses range from people calling him a "scapegoat", to the "fall guy" to the calling Philbin spineless and a back stabber. Whaoo!! Haven't we gone through this step before? Didn't they fired Dan Henning years back wasn't the result the same? What we are missing here is a "thorough cleansing."
The team needs a fresh start, the common denominator is still lurking.

Cleanse damn it, cleanse! This rinse, lather and repeat process is not working!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He is the definition of a scapegoat......your FO doesn't pull the trigger on a LT trade during the off season and decides to go into the season with a suspect line, the line falls apart and then a lineman claims he was bullied, the FO tells him next time punch the guy, the FO also over rules the coach and keeps it's resident bad boy after he sexually assaulted a volunteer who is the accused of the bulling ....your O sets records for futility in the passing game and running game, you end the season by losing the last two games scoring a total of 7 points, your D couldn't stop the run no matter who they played, couldn't get off the field on 3rd and long and the answer to all of the problems? Fire the OC.......This team has probably 6-8 more pressing issues than replacing the OC but since it makes so many feel good......more talent is what this team needed firing the OC was a make everyone else feel good move......

Apparently people around the country wanted us to keep him so we'd be an easy W. Also they must've missed the play calling he carried out.....And most importantly, they don't know our snap count now.

That's basically what it is. **** face Ross forces Philbin to fire Mr. Go-Go just to save face. If this is the only firing he should be forced to sell the team, he obviously had the football IQ of an unborn child.

Why are you insulting unborn children?

I understand this, not debating max protect, debating the personnel that could be used for it.

& I thought Lady Macbeth had OCD/cleaning issues.

National response. Lol

The Cowboys do this every year

Who gives a rats a$$ what the nat'l media thinks.

Jerruh is a media wh*** who doesn't realize that there is such a thing as bad attention.

Where did you here these LIES!

Everyone and their mother knew this move was coming.

Lot of know it alls flappin their gums up in here. You are entitled to your opinion but to hear people throw around that opinion with such conviction when we all KNOW most of this is a crap shoot is kind of funny. Im hoping that getting rid of Sherman helps the team, addition by subtraction so to speak

I do remember him having a crappy run as the Packer HC many years ago don't I? I lived in Packer country for 25 years and he seems to be the same person/coach as he was then very bossy and defensive with mediocre outcomes

As much as I dislike Sherman, he is a scapegoat if no one else is fired. Once again Ireland is the constant in all of the problems.

Coaching on the offensive side of the ball was definitely a problem. I don't know how much is Sherman and how much is Philbin, but firing Sherman is a good way to find out.

Yes, Ireland can take plenty of blame, too, but the coaches did a poor job utilizing the talent available.
