Yea the Pats game was a nice start and we did win because of the Wildcat, great passing and great defense.

The thing is we saw little of this in week 1 and absolutely nothing positive in week 2, yet in week 3 we had our best overall game since the Bears win in 2006.

If we can somehow play competitivly against SD even if we don't win it will be a good sign. My problem is that SD will be ready for the wildcat formation and will get more pressure on chad than the Pats did. Also there offense has two great RBs, Gates and Chambers along with Phillip Rivers.

I'm just wondering if week 3 was a turnaround or a fluke.

When you make plays like we did, it's not a fluke. You can't get good on a fluke. It means you have it in you. The Fins showed what they are capale of doing. The question is, can they do it on a consistent basis?

At this point I'm being patient. I really liked the game planning that went on prior to the NE game and it produced great results. First time we have seen that in a while huh folks? A real game plan that is.

The Wildcat could be hype but it is a weapon in our arsenal. Why you ask? Because we have proven to everyone we can run it successfully.

I'm worried about the D stopping the Chargers. ILB's matching up on Gates dictates safety help. You didn't mention Vincent Jackson. He presents another problem.

It was a step in the right direction. My guess is that the Fins will get smoked by the Chargers. The Dolphins are getting there in the trenches, but they just do not posses a serious threat to the Chargers defense with their skill positions. The running backs are the Fins only real threat right now, and I'm afraid that wont be nearly enough to hang with the Chargers. I like where Miami's defense is headed, but it is also a couple of playmakers away from being an upper echelon unit.

We won due to 2 things last Sunday: An unorthodox game plane, and the Patsies w/ Cassel really aren't very good.

When we play the Chargers, we don't get the luxury of going up against an over-hyped team with a high school QB. We go up against a team that is regarded by many as the class of the AFC. So...we don't have that advantage...

The second possibility would be we have another amazing coaching performance. I really don't think we are going to use the Wildcat that much, except maybe down the road in critical situations. I believe we will have a more conventional game plan OR we will employ something else completely unexpected. If we see a conventional plan...we will lose. Plain and simple.

So, this all comes down to coaching...extra-ordinary coaching....because I don't think we match up at all talent wise outside the trenches. So, if we win...I predict it will be due to a completely unexpect tactic...not sure what...

In any case, I am not too worried about winning this game. I want progress every week. I want to see our team get stronger so that when we hit the easy part of the schedule at the end of the season we can will most of our games.

I just wanna see progress. I wanna see the dolphins compete. if we lose its ok, its part of the rebuilding process. Im not saying its OK to lose, just saying with this team its gonna happen.

If we play SD down to the wire that will say alot about this team. I think SD is the top team in the AFC so if we play them tight I believe we are closer to a playoff team than most think. If we win then the trifecta needs to get a #1 receiver now. It will be interesting to see which Miami team shows up, but I know one thing, Penningtom was the QB of the 06 Jets that did this very same thing, expected to come in last and maybe win 4 games to 10-6 and in the playoffs. It will be interesting to see how this plays out. I'm carefully optimistic, I know we are a young growing team but a win against SD will be insane!!!

The secondary will have to play lights-out and cause some TOs for us to have a chance. The front seven I'm sure will play well, but it won't be enough by itself to handle Rivers and the SD receiving corps, which has been in the zone so far this year.

If the secondary shows up, we have a good chance. Otherwise, I predict an Arizona-style thrashing.

This will be a big test for our Secondary trying to cover the deep ball against Chambers, Jackson and the protecting the seams against Gates. If we can slow down LT then Rivers does like to force balls that aren't there so maybe we'll have a better shot at it.

Like some others have posted, as long as there's progress then the end result isn't really as important. We have to remember the long term goal is the big picture not just short term success.

I think this is going to be a really tuff match up for us. It somewhat depends on which Chambers shows up. Miami doesn't usually get lucky when playing agaist a player they released. We all know though that Chris has a knack of disappearing in big games. Aside from that though we are going to have a really hard time stopping LT on the outside. We will be fine up the middle but once he gets to the outside and the CB's and LB's have to tackle him I think we may be in trouble. Really though nobody knows, if our offense shows up like it did against NE then it really could be a shoot out.

Also, dont forget that LT isn't 100% healthy going into this week, so who knows we may not even see LT which would improve our chances 50%

Why is everyone thinking we are going to lose? This game is a week away and everyone is thinking we will lose. Guys let them play! I say I think we will win but, lets see them play first. I want the Chargers to kill the Raiders badly. So when they come to Miami thinking this is going to be a cakewalk next week we shock the nation again and put us on the map with a 2-2 record. The Trifecta will have us ready for this one mark my words.

We all may think this is a rebuilding team but, don't tell that to the players they want to win and make the playoffs that's why they play and get paid. It may take time but, this team wants to get to the playoffs and Super Bowl that's what 32 teams in the NFL do for the fans every year.

Our Dolphins are one of those teams as well.

Most of us may not think so but, the team knows and that is all that really matters.

Right?

I been a Dolphins fan for 26 years.....and counting I have been there every single season since age 12. Win or Lose.

So please guys let's just wait till the game starts and at the end of the day next Sunday we will see if we WIN or LOSE.

GO DOLPHINS!!!

This will be a tough game, but we can compete in this game. I would like to see wildcat as a permanent option within our base offense. I would like to go wildcat with no huddle anytime we convert a third and long against a dime defense. Basically, I would like to discourage the dime defense. Of course, we have to convert at least 1/3 of our third a longs for it to be a threat.
