:dolphins: god i can only hope quinn falls to 9...but its very unlikely so who is it going to be for us and in what round predict here! i say we get troy smith or drew stanton in round two!

seriously

ON what grounds do you base your assessment of quinn.

What has he done that makes you think we need him so bad.

what big games has he ever won? What bowl games has ever played good in?

Please explain to me why you are so high on this guy.

Troy Smith and Drew Stanton arent the quarterbacks of ANYONES future. Theres one good, solid QB in the draft, and he might not even make it in the pro's. I think this is the year of supporting cast, wide reciever, left tackle, defensive backs. Let Culpepper go (I dont think he'll ever be the same mentally knowing that his knee could blow again), have Joey start or bring in a free agent QB (to pull a Grossman or Garcia, do just enough to win, not enough to lose) and keep Lemon on the back burner in case something happens with Joey.

I honestly think that Cameron's ability to mold quarterbacks will help Joey in his decision making and bring him up to River's playing ability (not Brees, he's not that talented). I think we'll get into the playoffs based on a better offensive play calling ability and a stable, consistent defense, much like the Bears did. But I dont think we're superbowl bound for a few more years.

i totally disagree smith stanton will be good pro's they have all the tools to do so!

What will your guys' tune be when Culpepper comes back successfully and possibly wins comeback player of the year? You saw what he did with Mularkey calling the plays, the O-line sucked until they got things right in week 8, ohh and did i mention the guy was about 60% AT BEST! he might not have had peyton manning numbers but i'd like to see any other quarterback come back after being 7 months removed from that injury and do half the things Daunte did. Keep moaning and groaning for our "Qb of the future" but atleast give Daunte a chance when he is healthy for Gods sake.

I felt a lot more comfortable finding a QB before Brohm dropped out.

Rivers has more physical talent than Brees. At the same point in their careers Rivers is much better than Brees.

Oh please another Quinn hater. I understand that ND as a whole was very overrated. There defense was horrible, making it very hard for Quinn to sustain a lead against the better teams. He was always playing comeback. Quinn also played on a team that had a below average Oline. Usually a guy that plays behind a bad offensive line would throw many INTs but Quinn didnt throw many at all. In fact, before the sugar bowl his stats were 35 TDs/5 INTs. Thats an insane ratio. His running backs were also below average. Add all this up and you basically have Tom Brady playing for the Lions. Imagine that. Would Tom Brady be winning any "big" games. NO! But the Lions offense would be great, led by a great game managing QB who wont make many mistakes.

One has nothing to do with the other. The team needs to develop a young QB and I don't mean by using a token draft pick on some marginal 6th or 7th rd prospect.
DC, at best will be the starter for this team for 1-2 yrs.
You don't draft a rookie QB to come right in a be a star. The ideal scenario is for them to sit on the bench for 1-2 yrs. Only a rare player like Marino, Elway etc. can come in and make an impact.

I dont see how anyone can say that Quinn is not a great prospect. Hes got the arm strength to throw any pass, hes got really good athletic ability, hes got the mental toughness, hes been trained the last 2 years by a pro style coach which will only elevate his play in the pros.

This guy took a beating his first 2 years in college, then along comes a good coach with a good system and he soaks up all this knowledge like a sponge.

THIS GUY HAS A CHANCE TO BE A GREAT QB IN THE PROS!!!!! Yes indeed...

I don't get why anyone would think Stanton would be good in the NFL. Even with his talent, which I would agree is there, he never was a winner in college or even remotely consistent. So why assume he would be anything different in the NFL. Although I'm skeptical on Smith, at least you can't argue his intangibles as a consistent winner and field general in college (save the Florida game). Put Stanton's head and physical measurements in Smith's head and you'd have the number 1 pick.
