This is what we need from reggie.

Reggie Bush needs to be used pretty much the same way NO used him.

He will NEVER be an every down back. You think returning punts took time off his career? Try repeatedly sending him into the trenches.

He wasn't even the starting TB at USC.

If utilized properly, he's dangerous as hell, but that's out in space where he can swivel his hips and turn on the burners.

He also has GREAT hands, which should end up being a nice blessing for Henne

How quick everyone is to say how AWESOME Chris Johnson is!!! Does anyone even realize that Reggie is a little taller and about 10-15 pounds heavier than him? So don't even bring the size aspect into the argument.I think Reggie will do just fine provided he can remain healthy.I have nothing but the utmost confidence in him.I'm so glad the Ronnie/Ricky Circus Act is gone......................................

Its funny that everyone knows how the phins should use reggie. Didn't know we had NFL coaches on FH. The best play for reggie in this offense is the just let homie run play! I don't care how NO used him this isn't louisiana. He needs to be good at everything for our offense to succeed. Not just sweep plays and slot receiver. If he doesn't run up the middle that's one thing the defense doesn't need to worry about. Personally this season I want defenses confused as much as possible. NO did a great job using him as a distraction. We need to do the same plus more! If we just let reggie run it will build his confidence through the season. Oh yea for those thinking not using him on ST is a good idea. I agree 100 percent. ST is like kill the man wit the ball. We have enough young guys that can take that risk.

Go Phins!

sometimes i wonder what games ppl at finheaven watch. alotta ppl on here sound like other casual fans who dont follow the Miami Dolphins. I'm not proclaiming reggie can or cant be a "real rb" but what i am going to say is that every snap ive seen this guy play this summer - hes put his shoulders down and carried guys. that is ON TOP of quick moves and crazy speed in space. Reggie is setting out to prove that he is a "real RB" and i hope he succeeds. i also hope this staff doesnt have him returning punts. but i dont think they will.

Nice post! That guy has deceptional power. Football is mental game. Evelyn woodhead in New England is puny, but that guy simply understands the offense and has the mental makeup.

Fact is, all RB's get injured. Where were these people when new england picked up Fred Taylor? They were drooling all over this guy. He was always hurt!!!!!! He was nothing when in New England!!!!! These people have no objectivity! They only look at the negative when looking at the dolphins. wgee all know this. This isnt anything new. LT in san diego was hurt too. alot of times playing hurt but then he didnt look so good.

As far as reggie goes, this dude will be getting the rock all over the place.

Chris Johnson is too small to run between the tackles too. Oh wait, nevermind.

Hit the nail on the head, great post. People need to accept that reggie was brought in to be a running back first, slot receiver 2nd. These ppl need to keep hating on the guy and telling reggie he cant be a real running back, reggie uses ppl like that as motivation. Thats why he wanted to come to miami, to get his chance to be a real featured running back on a team. New orleans was a team who just didnt believe in the guy.

I don't care how or where Reggie gets the ball, just give him the rock! He's explosive in space, and he can make moves in the trenches. I don't want him getting slammed on every play, but if he touches the ball 15+ times in the running ang passing game, he will make plays. If Henne can hit the long and mid-range ball on a consistent basis then it opens up Reggies' game immensely.

oo i dont think sparano got your memo than, try sending it again cause from what i saw in preseason reggie was going in that middle with no fear whatsoever. Dont worry though, once sparano gets your memo he will make reggie head straight to the sidelines!!!!

Sparano's got the memo. NFL reality is far different than most of these fandom threads that don't fly. Reggie never played a full season in NO because he was always hurt, without even pounding the middle where he'll get hurt even faster.

Reality is arriving next week. Pound Reggie & get him hurt, Little Blocking, & Henne confused by the Zone ... back to One-Dimensional Offense like last year ... Daboll & Sparano will do their best to keep that from happening.

That's the memo!! lol

wrong, reggie never played a full season in new orleans cause they made him play 4 positions. Come on man!

Reggie's last 3 years injuries:

2008 - injured left knee returning a punt vs. Carolina.
2009 - lingering effects of '08's knee + a hammy vs. Dallas on a 16 yard catch.
2010 - broken leg returning a punt vs. San Francisco.

... but, yeah - apparantly we all just know he can't run between the tackles because he's just a wittle guy. :bobdole:

The herd mentality continues.

I envision Daboll using him the way the Rams used Marshall Faulk. RB 1st, but dangerous receiver out of the backfield.
