This is what we're trying to do...

Carne Asada-
That was an exceptional break down. I called out the 9ers defense in an earlier season rant, calling out our need for some Alphas.

What really helps is that their front 4 typically gets home. They play a ton of base defense, not needing to rely on the blitz. I personally dont think their back end is particularly great but man is that SS Hufanga an absolute
beast. Clearly there LBs bring an element that we havent seen in years. They are fast, strong and do NOT miss tackles.

This break down helps people realize how hard it is to scheme and proper play call.

Thanks again for posting- and yes, i hope we have this style of defense soon, Chubb certainly helps us. He starts to get home, freeing up 91 or 15 on the other side, and his addition could really add momentum for the back half of the season.

No wonder it doesn't work for us. We don't have anywhere near their passrush. We are just going to leave our DBs on and island and they will get torched all game since we haven't been able to produce any pass rush all season.

SF has made defensive line a priority. Lots of high picks there that have worked out. Obviously, Bosa is a monster and they were able to get him coming off a down year. He might be the best DE in football.

Agree, the secondary isn't great.

I was kind of surprised that Robert Saleh was selected as the Jets coach. Simply because I didn't see him doing anything special, or creative as a DC in SF. It was mostly about having the talent. He was lauded for leadership and that's important.

Now, the 49ers offense is creative especially in the run game and how they get receivers open.

At this stage, if we can get the defense to get anywhere average and be consistent with the offense then we might have something for the end of the regular season and beyond.
