With Miami on an awesome winning streak, they are likely, IMO, to draft somewhere in the middle of the pack come draft day. There is speculation as to whom Miami will draft, but if this guy is on the board when it comes time to pick, I have no doubt Saban will get this guy. He is just too good to pass up. He has had a few injuries in his career, but nothing that kept him out for too long. He has gone this entire year without injury. Willis is a vocal leader, a good student (He's graduating early this year in December), and a genuinely good person (He regularly does community work here in Oxford). These are all qualities that ANY coach would love to have in a particular player.

Though Willis plays MLB in a 4-3, many believe he can play at any LB position in any system. He is touted to be the best LB in the country by almost all analysts. I cannot disagree. Because of Ole Miss' lack of national exposure, Willis has somewhat flown under the radar by many who do not keep up with SEC football. He leads the SEC in tackles. Was ranked as the 10th best player in the nation by SI. 1st team All-American by CBS Sportsline and College Football News. Rated the #1 ILB by Sporting News. He is a finalist for the Bronko Nagurski and Dick Butkus awards. This guy is just awesome! I just wanted to give some exposure for those who have not heard of him:

And this from Georgia's Mark Richt: "I don't think there's any question he's one of the best in our league and in the country. And he's been that way for a while now."

Willis, the SEC's leading tackler, makes the kind of plays that leave a lasting impression.

"When I saw (Willis) run down Darren McFadden from Arkansas basically from behind with no angle, I knew he had pretty good speed," the Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville said.

A Butkus Award finalist, likely repeat first team All-American and future NFL draft pick, Willis will play his final game for Ole Miss on Saturday against rival Mississippi State.

This guy is solid no doubt, but isnt he projected towards the end of the first round/early 2nd round by most experts? Even still I wouldnt mind grabbing this guy. Especially with this years draft being so deep at WR (which we need badly) might not be a bad idea...I just cant shake the last time we drafted a LB in the first round.

love him but he will be probably the 1st LB taken.

he is VERY fast but seems very small as well. i would love him tho.

Actually, most experts are picking him to go in the middle of the 1st before the combines. LAST YEAR he was projected late 1st/early 2nd. He has no doubt improved his stock because of his play this year. Of course, when the combines come, things could change. They always do....

If 6'2", 240 is VERY small, then I'll stand corrected. Personally, I think that is pretty good size for a LB. He's taller than Ray Lewis, but 10lbs lighter. Of course, most players on D gain weight when they hit the NFL, so that's not an issue.

Interesting, yes. But I would much rather get Lamar Woodley.

I like him too and was surprised on Mel Kiper's latest big board that he is behind others, such as Buster Davis. He is not even the highest rated senior LB, not to mention juniors like Brandon Siler that are rated ahead of him.

Looks like the highest rated LB on this board (Nov. 22) at #15 (stock rising) overall by Mel. The next closest LB is Buster Davis (stock dropping) at # 25.

Yeah, I see what you're saying. He is a lean 240, which is good because his body can no doubt gain weight with no issue.

I watched Ole Miss games this year and man..#49 Willis is ALL over the field..he tackles well and he fast as hell..i wouldnt mind the Dolphins picking this kid

hes VERY underrated

I surely hope not. Though, I wouldn't mind a Woodley or Posluzsny, I just feel he would be a better overall fit down the road.
