Yeah he's a bit of a whackadoo.
He's like Ireland on steroids... except with solid personnel skills.
From the article:
During his first year, Pioli noticed a candy wrapper in a back stairwell and waited to see how long it took to be picked up.
Sounds like he and Philbin would fit together like old lovers.
Yeah, this just supports my uneasy feeling about him.
He seems real cheesy to me. I read his bio on wikipedia. Some guy shot himself in the head there and he thanked Pioli before he did.
Seems really really weird to me.
Not really. If you look at their roster most of the best players were acquired by Carl Peterson.
Yeah I know that's why I said solid not good. Tyson Jackson in the top 5, trading for and signing Cassell to a TERRIBLE contract, Jonathan Baldwin in the 1st, Javier Arenas in the 2nd.
****ing litters.

That is Pioli's fault that Belcher thanked him? LOL. WTF?
I don't consider that solid. I consider that Ireland-esque.

Yep. I'm not a big fan of Peterson but he's a far better alternative to another six years of Jeff Ireland. Or Mike effing Tannenbaum.
Pioli sucks.
If the job is "coveted" as Darlington and Daniel Jeremiah have said, then it shouldn't be too hard to do better. The reason we haven't be able to attract the top coaching talent/some FAs just left the building, but generally I think people like Miami and want to play/work here. Ross is an absentee owner with deep pockets, which also helps. Not to mention the league has a high opinion of Ryan Tannehill.
