`What happens to everybody else has nothing to do with us. Understand?'' said Saban, banging on his lectern for emphasis. ``What we can control, we can control.
``So don't ask me that, because I'm really going to get upset if you ask me. That's pretty simple, common thinking. What they do doesn't matter. What we do is what matters.''
You're right about the analogy. Maybe he didn't really say it like that. He strikes me as a bright guy.jdang307 said:``What happens to everybody else has nothing to do with us. Understand?''
``If we have three friends who fail the ACT test to get into college, what do we have to do to get into college? Pass the ACT test.
I don't think Saban did too well in the SAT analogy part lol. I completely agree with Saban about concentrating on winning their games, and not to dwell on wha the other teams do, but that analogy is horrible. The better analogy would be if you have three friends taking a test, and you need the highest score on the test to get into college or win or whatever. Well them scoring horribly damn well does have something to do with you. You still study hard and do as best as you can, but it does affect you.
Sorry, just nitpicking the analogy. I hate bad analogies.
