Fire Sherman instead of cleaning house. Ireland is no Matt Millen, but he is clearly shown that he is a below average GM at best. How many years have we been trying to "build the offensive line" this is the 6th year of trying to do that. While he doesn't miss on 1st round picks (which is a plus) he has no clue how to draft rounds 2-7. Our best 2nd round pick was Daniel Thomas.. How about his free agent signings. Richard Marshall? Wallace? Ellerbe? Wheeler? Philbin, is nothing more than average. Is he better than Sparano? Yes, but that's not saying much. The Dolphins will continue to be a 7-9 8-8 football team as long as Jeff Ireland and Joe Philbin are employed by the Miami Dolphins. Now in a do or die year Philbin has to bring in a new OC and a new system, with a BRUTAL schedule next year. I can't see this team winning more than 7 games next year. Why delay the process? This is what happens when you try and mix and match Head Coaches and GM's... IT DOESN'T WORK! Football teams are a reflection of their head coach. The Dolphins are boring, flat, stoic, and show zero emotion. The Bills and the Jets PLAYED HARDER than we did, when they had nothing to play for. The playoffs were gift wrapped for us. There is zero excuse for Ireland and Philbin to still have a job. We FINALLY have a Franchise Quarterback but unfortunately that will be squandered until we can get a real HC and GM.:crazy:

Oh look. Another Jeff Ireland thread to go with the millions of others. So much new information. :420:

This organization hasn't been average in 6 yrs, we are now in the same boat as the Browns and Raiders.....

So this topic needed its own thread?

We have this same topic in every thread.

Sorry I'm new to here I didn't know this was a topic in every thread. I was just going off on a rant because I cannot believe they still have jobs. Sorry mods can delete this or whatever.

There are Ireland hate threads all over this forum. Just pick one and rant away in it.

Isn't the job of the GM to get the players that the head Coach wants while keep the team in good cap space. Both of our last head coaches have worked with the offensive line at some point in their coaching career. Sure he has blown some picks but who’s to say That the coach didn’t want those players? Ie D Thomas.

I am glad somebody finally started a topic about Jeff Ireland, it needed to be done.

I think it's a worthwhile theme. We lack special people throughout the top of the organization. They don't see it that way because they are basically on the same level. Ross may have money but none of his actions here stand out as sharp, including the petulant way he handled the rejection by the state legislature.

I'll be excited when someone steps forward and announces that we are getting out of this stadium. That's the only reference point that matters, IMO. Not a patch job, but an intelligently designed replacement with home impact as priority. Until that point I'm convinced we're simply overmatched. Little moves like changing offensive coordinators are nothing within the big scheme. It reminds me of the daily media obsession during a presidential campaign, over the latest quote or gaffe, when the result was already cemented long ago by situational variables.

brutal schedule next year??? i havent seen it yet to even know...
