Last year our blowout came about midway through the season. This year it came early. Real early. There is no sugar coating this team now. There wasn't one phase of our team that stood our and impressed.

So this should be a humbling lightbulb going off for all of us.. Im sure the team looked like a string of christmas lights blinking last night during the flight home last night. Unless of course it was completely blacked out.

It took years to get here. Years of bad drafts, mismanagement, and poor FA acquisitions.

This past preseason spiked out koolaid and had us believing. believing that would've been better than the 31-10 abuse we took in the desert. If they weren't beating us, we were beating ourselves.

This loss was as ugly and comical as it gets. Here is to hoping that there is some pride on this team somewhere. Pride that makes performace like on Sunday inexcusable.

Although I don't expect miracles. I don't expect anything great. But I do expect some competitiveness. And I don't expect us to beat ourselves. Again.

This loss may actually be a godsend. Sending a message to this team that nothing but the very best is unexceptable. We have hit rock bottom, in only the second week. This may be a good thing.

We need to draft players who can count to 11...

Here's a desperate reach for optimism...in 2005, we got hammered by Cleveland 22-0, and responded with a 6 game win streak to close the season.

Last year, we lost 38-17 to Buf, and won our only game of the season after that....

Of course after Cleveland we got the Raiders, and after Buffalo we got Baltimore...

...never mind, can I sleep until Sunday?

I can only hope this loss was a godsend. cause if not, i'm going to need a new television set by the end of the year.

start prepping henne right now. we have new england this week and then a bye. he should be the starter on week 5, at home against the Bolts. pennington, although a smart professional, is finished. he can't throw it anymore and teams know it. he will continue to be a liability and hinderance on offense. he won't make a crucial mistake and give the game away, but unfortunately, he can't win it for you with his arm, either. henne will make his rookie mistakes, but the kids got some swagger out there and he's making guys around him better. he is the best they have at the position right now and he can only get better. stop pu$$yfooting around!

let pennington take on the qb coaching role and help henne transition to the starter. teams must respect the deep throw or the running game will never get going. this fundemental thing must be corrected or we will see this pathetic offense all year and the defense, as bad as they are, will be hung out to dry every week.

Are you kidding?? Yeah let's throw Henne in there just like we did Beck last year when things were going well. Look how that turned out. I watched the game again last night, and I lost count of the number of times that Henne got hit. He's probably the sorest guy in the locker room and he didn't play that much but he was getting nailed. There were a couple of plays where he just got leveled from his blind side by a defender coming full speed. In the heat of the moment like everyone else, I was very impressed with how Henne handled things and I flirted with the idea that he would be a better option--but then I watched the game AGAIN and realized that for the future of this franchise, if Henne is our guy, there are a lot of other things that need to get sorted out before he gets in the game. Like Samson Satele getting absolutely owned, Ted Ginn's inability to beat a jam or press coverage, our OLs inability to stop blitzes, our ridiculous mental mistakes, and our atrocious defense. This team will be playing from behind a lot this season and teams are going to tee off on our QB when they KNOW we have to pass it. Henne's the future, there are many other issues that need to be addressed NOW.

I agree, but it all depends on what the real plan is for this team. It would seem to me...and I know this wont be popular, but it would seem to me that this team would benefit from another draft that we are in the top 5. I know that may not be what people want to hear or believe. My point is it's not beyond a reasonable thought. When you consider we didn't do anything about the WR's, CB, DT and LB this past off season, you would have to think BP and company would be happier drafting in the top 5 then top 15-20. Of course this is just my opinion and I have no proof this is the case just throwing out the possibilty

I would believe, that is what Parcells is thinking to! Most rebuilds take 3 years...we have two years left to go.

the phins need to build consistency, that is in the front office, coaching and playbook, and most important in the draft, this team has changes every year and it is time to pay for that right now, eat our humble pie and wait, it will get better we have the right people in charge
