there really seems to be complete uncertainity about what Miami will do at free agency time. There was a degree of mystery under Saban as well, so I guess fans should be used to it. I am afraid to even speculate this year. The only reason folks guess is because the free agent market is small or as said before, "shallow". I will be interested to see who is invited for a visit.

Letting everyone know who you're interested in usually only serves to drive up the market for those players.

The "uncertainty" is what us as fans have... I'm sure that the FO is zeroing in on player targets as we speak

Have we ever had certainty???

I can't say I was ever sure who we would pick in the draft.

With Parcells you have a track record at least, he picks defense.

Saban tried as hard as he could to be sneaky, and he told everyone about it while he was doing it. He learned from Parcells.

Parcells is naturally sneaky, and he won't be telling anyone about it later or ever...

Until F/A starts at the end of this week, teams can't be talking to/negotiating with any F/A's that are on other teams. Agents cannot say if they have received any calls from teams until then as well. So all we get is rumors and speculation. I'm sure we won't be told about any f/a's coming to Miami until they are practically signed.

I am aware of the limits of information sharing...

Just venting some. Other teams appear to be a little more free with information, but I am not opposed to what Parcells and company do if it gets us the players we need.

Lee, uncertainty is exactly what Parcells and Co want to convey right now. And as to the 'secrecy' thing, Saban learned it from Belicheat who learned it from Parcells...

Parcells is a crafty old man. He is the one sending his people in the press the rumors in order to mask what he really wants to do. somewhere out there in those rumors is the truth. My bet is he will go defense regardless if he trades the pick or not. His drafting history says he will draft LB or DE in the first round unless there is a franchise qb worthy of the first pick. Is Ryan that franchise QB? I don't think he is.
