i just watched it on aqua vision, and what i take away from it is that the non football people seem to care more about getting more super bowls to south florida then makeing dolphin home games a more home field advantage. i think we can all agree we need a better home field advantage.

"Miami's stadium is 23 years old and is showing it's age, some signs of wear and tear" LOL The Superdome (which beat miami's stadium for the 2013 SB) is 35 years old!

It will be difficult to compete with some of these Dome stadiums out here. I think Miami puts on a good show whenever the Super Bowl comes here and the night life really can't be beat.

When u see stadiums like the Dallas one and the Zona one, I mean I don't see how they ever bring it back here w/o us upgrading.

Any idea how much money comes into South Florida because of the Super Bowl? It's probably a good idea that we land as many Super Bowls as possible.

They also practically rebuilt the Superdome. New Orleans is well suited to host events. It's what they do.

I think that place is a cesspool, and, RIP to Security Officer Mitch Pierce (He's a retired cop, so save the jokes) Dude slept one bunk over from me, and was sude to rotate out of that toilet in a few weeks. Some ****cucking POS Nawlens trash shot him through his right eye while he was in the gaurdhouse at the gate. I took over the site where he was killed shortly after the incident. (Gideon's Church FEMA EGS)

**** New Orleans.

I hope that whole place burns.

Exactly . . . the clubs, the restaurants, the hotels, the taxi drivers, the jet ski rental places, the gas stations, the car rental places . . . I mean anytime a Super Bowl is down here, it brings about half a billion dollars to the local economy . . . in a span of what? a week? You can't beat that, and is a big reason to want as many Super Bowls as possible down here.

have you ever been to a game in september down here. yes its a home field advantage but when I go to a football game i dont wanna die of heat stroke I have been to countless 1:00pm games and beacuse of the heat I got very sick and dehydrated, have not been back sense the Oakland game in 2007. I used to go to 4 or 5 games a year.....not to mention the NFL is now a better product on TV than in person

Since it's a dome, the lights don't let you see the wear and tear of the stadium b/c it's so dark inside :)

Nah, nothing beats going to the stadium. Obviously financially speaking, staying at home in the A/C with a 24 pack of beer for $20 with about 30 bucks for food with 4 friends over is much cheaper than 4 guys buying 4 60 dollar tickets, still spending the 50 on tailgating and spending another 50 in the stadium for beer and a pretzel . . . and being uncomfortable with the heat may seem idiotic.

But the atmosphere is priceless, the singing of all the fans after a Fins win, the screaming and yelling . . . I mean it will always be better IMO to go to the game.

Now it's not for everybody, that September heat is bad. Alot of people feel like its the rain why we need a dome, fk that, its that heat.

in the end we will have spent more money refurbushing a old stadium then what a new one would cost. i think when the list grows for things to be fixed then that is a sign a newer stadium would have been the way to go.

Last time I was in New Orleans was 1998, and it was a sh*thole then. I can't imagine it's gotten any better. Especially, post Katrina.

Build a good team, treat your fans right, make the gameday experience festive, and save your money. Then improve the stadium.

If we put a metal roof on top of the stadium it will be hot as F**k even with a breezeway passthrough. Why not just spend the money on the dome, its not like we don't have it!!! This is why we are loosing our fan base, bc morons like those guys dictate everything and anything.. ARGH a dome is the way to go in S.Fla, I know this stadium has history but damn why cant they just give that stadium to the canes and build us a new one? They give the Marlins a new stadium with the lowest payroll and revenue in the MLB, but not the fins one of the premier places to play a retractable dome is the way to go. But oh well to each his own I just think this is BS, I don't care if that thing is hurricane proof, it's a damn tin roof we are gonna look like a circus tent from here on out and sweat our butts off even more. The air is going to be 3 times as thick as it is w/o a roof no matter what they do to insulate it. I have come to the realization that sitting at home on the couch watching the game drinking some beers is the best place for me LOL. GO fins

I think your summary is perfect. Joe Robbie was always too busy fighting with the city commission over fees that he took for granted what the Orange Bowl offered in terms of unmatched home field influence. Consequently he didn't prioritize that in his multipurpose monstrosity, and no one has cared since.

The league wants a warm weather neutral site for an occasional Super Bowl. We happen to play our home games there. It won't be obvious how stupid it was until decades from now when we move.
