Probably stating the obvious, but...
"The NFL Draft, which begins Thursday with the first round, is arguably the most pivotal one in Dolphins history.

Not only because the selected players will help determine the future of a team going nowhere, but also because the perception of the Dolphins' choices will determine whether a dwindling fan base deserts a franchise it no longer likes or recognizes.
Listen to Joe Lancaster, whose family has owned four season tickets since 1967. He stopped going to games and has been selling his tickets. But the people who usually buy them haven't called to renew. He might have to advertise his prized 16th-row, 45-yard-line seats on the Internet. That's what the Dolphins have been reduced to: Craigslist.
"The Dolphins have been living off the 1972 season for far too long," Lancaster said. "There's a lot of apathy and anger among fans. There's no faith in management. People say this is still a football town, but the Heat, Marlins and even the Panthers generate much more excitement than the Dolphins.""

I think the Dolphins Fan Base died an ugly death in 1974. Since then, there have only been vague rumors of small surviving elements now enjoying delusional shuffle-board in South Florida Retirement Communities.

Only us masochists left I am afraid. A sordid collection of bulb-eating, self-mutilating, submissive, eager-for-punishment cutters.

Cool story bro

Translation:

"I'ts been a long time since the early '70's. Despite the mid-80's single Super Bowl "tease", it's been a long, hard road for us Dolfans....despite "when" you jumped on the train. Fact is, it's been downright heartbreaking over the past decade. the members of this forum are all "TRUE" fans (we must be, 'cause we are still here!). Just so tough....sometimes it feels as though we must like the pain, 'cause we are not going anywhere and remain loyal."

Beating the jests and the pats will excite the fan base.

Winning most of the HOME games would excite the fan base.

Not hearing about anything that Ross has to say would excite the fan base.

Not hearing about what players Ross wants would excite the fan base.

Not hearing Ross compare whoever the QB ends up being favorably with Marino would excite the fan base.

Not hearing Ross compare the new over 50 head coach with a young Don Shula would excite the fan base.

Not having Ross hold gator day celebrations on Sundays when the Dolphins are playing would excite the fan base.

Not hearing about any new 1% celebrity owners would excite the fan base.

I think hearing about a new potential Dolphin's owner would be cause for celebration.

That, good sir, was very well written.

Nonsense am I pissed we haven't won since 1974, have no
Young QB for the future, tired of all the negativity generated by the media of course but Desert the franchise? Silliest thing I've ever heard on here.

Unfortunately, until the Miami Dolphins organization/team wins a playoff game, they will be looked at as not credible. This by the fans, media, and people around the league. Fair or not, expect more of the same until that happens.

I think the problem with this draft is simple......1/3 of the fanbase want "this", 1/3 want "that" and the other 1/3 want "the other".
In the end, more than half the fanbase will be unhappy with whatever happens.

There will never be another Don or Danny for the Dolphins. Those two built respect, tradition and a winning team for two gereations. All Ross and company can do is to find replacements for those legends. It's gotta be a hard thing to do.
Winning cures all and makes fans forget about losing seasons. Let's try that this year...Please.

The article is not crap....it is totaly the thruth....anyone who thinks otherwise is delusional.....I have loved our Dolphins since I was 12 and always will, but this is not the team I used to root for.....maybe things will change but till we start to win again and I mean beat good teams on games that actually mean something, people will keep on laughing at us.After they way we have drafted, is scary to think about who we're going to draft....when was the last time we got an impact player in round 2 or 3?

Ozzy rules!!
