Do not discuss the score tonight, nor the run defense.

Do not discuss who played and who didn't, it's irrelevant.

DO NOT turn this into a Tannehill love/hate thread, most of all. Please.

All I want to say here is that this 2016 offense under new direction from Adam Gase has some serious talent at each position, and it's time for the excuses to stop. Excuses for who? I don't know. Honestly, I don't. Tannehill lovers blame the O-line and management. Tannehill haters blame, well, yeah...

But to me, I look at each spot and I look at what they could be when experience is had and the proverbial "gelling" takes place.

I see a lot of weapons and our best blend of experience and talent on the offensive line since I've been a poster on Finheaven. I hate the "on paper" cliche, but I'll be damned if we can't give credit where credit is due for the front office building a talented offense on paper. This offensive line CANNOT suck again this year. It just can't! This is the best depth combo I've seen in years.

I'd swear that just Gase taking over for Philbin's lame ass would in itself be an upgrade for the offense. And that may be true, but man it's been a long time since I've done my annual preseason evaluation of our offense (2 deep chart) and thought, damn, this could actually be really good.

There are no excuses anymore. This is the year to make a jump where we actually have confidence when our starting offense takes the field.

I'll tell you what I see:

I see the same thing that plagued us under Philbin, which is that we consistently see somebody blowing it. It's always a different guy. At this point, my hope is that what we are seeing is just the residual stench of Joe Philbin.

What excuses are you talking about?

It's the residual stench of continuously drafting dumb players.

I agree, but fundamentals are what will determine the offense's success or lack thereof. You have to block, run, throw, and catch the ball. Three of those four are still very shaky at best.

Jordan Cameron does not impress me and I was high on the guy last year. I know we didn't throw him the rock much last year, but this guy has got to man up and become a force or get the hell out of South Beach. Oline hopefully will improve their run blocking but right now, Jay and Arian have no where to run.

What excuses are you talking about?

Any. You name it. Excuses happen when there is a failure. We have a headstrong, offensive minded coach who is guiding a talent laden offense with a 5th year quarterback.

There should be zero excuses anymore from anyone.

I think what you meant to say, OP, is that this offense has too much talent for the defense to play this way -- again.

Freakin' Tannehill. Not able to stop the opposing team's O from doing what they want. Again.

Nor is Tannehill able to block for more than 2 seconds on a 3rd and 8. Gets ear-holed making a simple 8 yard pass.

SMH. It's time RT steps up and stops the opposing team's offense. And then blocks well on passing downs. And then catches the ball when it hits him in the hands.

It's the offense's fault. Yep.

Chunk plays all night by the opposing team. Running. Passing. Doing what they want. Barely even facing 3rd downs.

But let's talk about the "offense having too much talent for the excuses to continue," lol.

By the way. List the talent on O and I'll show you pretty much every position listed as needing to be improved and not nearly as "talented" as made out to be.

Doesn't matter how much talent you have when you can't run the ball and put yourself in tough 3rd and longs. It doesn't matter how much talent you have when you can't protect the QB.

This isn't conducive to this thread man.

Ryan Tannehill, and I am NOT blaming him in any sort of way in this thread, has nothing to do with what you are talking about or the score of tonight's game.

Stay on track.

They do have alot of talent on offense. However the offensive line continues to be a major concern and could hold the offense back again.

I want to see them move the ball against the Falcons first string D and score at least 21 in the first half next week. The Falcons D should be pretty weak so the Dolphins should be able to move the ball and score some points on them.

We have yet to see the Dolphins 1st string offense score on an opposing teams 1st string defense this preseason which is bothersome. Defenses in the Giants and Cowboys that were two of the worst in the league in 2015.

Can we just get a more vertical offense? Please... we always throw to the flat and to the sidelines and these short dink and dunk with a rare long ball. It's unbelievable. I can't get over how inept our offense is. You would think between 3 different regimes we could get a chage of pace

But this is what I'm talking about. We DO have the talent to prevent these bad situations.

See, that's what my thread is all about. We got the horses now up front and we got some runners. We have to make this work now.
