This picture is when the game changed.

I would think it was a catch, but I think the reason it was not challenged was because "the nature progression of the step" left the foot on the line at the end. When the top tips are forward this is not true.

I would have challenged as well however from what I saw it appears that one foot is in but the other part of his body is resting on the defender. If I know the rule properly the defender is not considered the field and therefore he doesn't have 2 body parts inbounds. I need to see the reverse picture to see where his right leg is.

The game really was changed as a result of 3 absolutely mind blowing referee calls that gave New England drive changing first downs where they would have been forced to punt. I believe they scored 17 points off those calls.

That call was in Philbin's hands and he chose not to challenge.

I have seen him challenge far stupider calls on the field, so why not this one? He clearly blew the challenge and swung the momentum of the game here.

View attachment 11634 Who the hell is our guy looking at replays? This is two weeks in a row! Wallace had a crucial catch versus the Bills and now this one. This one changed the game if you ask me.

We had many horrible calls against us yesterday (Stopped counting at about 6), and as bad as that was, it can be argued that wasn't even the worse. An investigation needs to be made, and if the NFL is not willing to do it, an outside source needs to be brought in. I expected horrible calls to favor the Patriots, but what I saw yesterday was just disgusting.

This one and batted ball call makes me convinced the refs feel a need to always give the Patriots certain calls....it is just like Michael Jordan never getting called for traveling or Larry Bird elbowing a defender so he could launch a 3 pointer.....certain teams and players play by different rules.

honestly looked to me like matthews only got his right foot down and then his knee came down on the chalk, though i could be wrong. looking at that pic i actually dont think i see his left toe on the turf.

Thanks. I am not blaming the refs at all... Tough call to make in full speed... Our guy in the booth has to be on this! I did this before the punt! I was half in the bag and figured it out quickly.

Too bad they also screwed up multiple amounts of other calls....most of which were very suspicious.

Wow great angle! Right after that his right hand comes down in bounds and I was questioning if a hand equals a foot I know a elbow in does but not sure on a hand?
