This team has Talent!

That's what I want to avoid. I just want someone who will build on top of the little good there is in this roster instead of starting over from scratch. Either of the Grudens would likely keep most of this roster and if they want personnel control so be it. Again I'm not defending Jeff Ireland I just don't want to rebuild again.
I'd just like to take this time to clear up this one common misconception... when it's week 9 and you're just now trying to fill glaring holes on the roster when it was apparent to anybody with sense that we had those same holes week 1 yet the people making the decisions appear to be completely oblivious to those holes sadly you can only bring yourself to come to this one conclusion... you're still in the process of rebuilding.

We turn over every stone and interchange personal all the time and obviously we do so because we struggle to identify (and utilize) talent and it gets us absolutely no where in the grand scheme of things.

So why not bring somebody else in and see if they can actually take 3 steps forward without always taking 2 steps back?

This is not an endorsement for or against Jeff Ireland. Simply put....this Dolphins team had enough talent to beat Baltimore, Buffalo, and New England and didn't. So...in my opinion, everyone from the top on down to the water boy needs to be held accountable.

except for dem dare cheerleaders !!!

You don't keep the GM around just because you want continuity. He's an employee. You don't keep bad employees around just because you don't want to find a new one, do you? If he survives 5 losing seasons in a row, he's going to be here for the next 20 years and people will still defend him.

Oh we have continuity alright, it's called losing

Which is totally fine, just so long as we are not rebuilding while we lose.

Or something to that effect.

I totally get the frustration with rebuilding over and over again. But longevity for the sake of longevity is ridiculous. Ireland wont suddenly become competent the minute he hits his 6th year on the job. Hes still making the same mistakes he did during year 1. Anyone need evidence for that claim? I point you to our offensive line.

I'm not saying he isn't I just don't want to go through another rebuilding with a GM that might want to bring his own guys. That'd already be what our 4th rebuilding in 10 years? I just don't want to do it all over.

Yes, it's far better to go 7-9 this year, then 7-9 next year, then 7-9 the year after that. How many 7-9 seasons before your eyes open?
