It's tough to see these losses mount up, but let's remember this is the first year of a whole new system. We all want to see results. Well, we're getting them. The penalties are getting better, the running game has been established. I do believe the QB situation will be dealt within the next 1-2 weeks. It is a rebuilding time, and it takes patience, but we are certainly better off with what we see now compared to the beginning of this season.

very good post, and i definitely agree

i dont see a qb change occuring until we lose to NE next week and we face a dcent team in cleveland. a game where R&R can take teh stress off the qb by pounding it out.

The team was better than 4-12 last season....but they still played a 4-12 season. It's like watching last season all over again....just missing a win....playing close games....just to lose.

i never looked at it the way you stated but you're right, Saban handled the penalties, Saban sured up the running game and now the passing game is obviously the next cog that needs to be repaired hopefully by next week

We are NOT better than a 3-5 team. We are equal to a 3-5 team. Its as simple as that.
The running game is about the only bright spot. Even if Sage comes in, he is going to need a few games. The secondary is like a puddle, it may annoy receivers from time to time, but they can still run on through it if they want to.

actually, i believe this team is only as good as 3-5. im as hopeful of a dolfan as anyone else, and i believe our season is by no means over, but this team has a lot to improve on before we start talking about a winning record. our secondary is AWFUL. its absolutely one of the softest secondaries in the league. our front seven on defense is very solid, and our d-line is one of the best in the nfl, this is why we stay competitive, and sometimes win games. our offense is bad, plain and simple...we have a great running game that our coaches dont want to rely on, and our qb and passing game, well..we all know about that. this team is 3-5 because we shoot ourselves in the foot, we beat ourselves. isnt that the more reason to say our record is justified?

Good points, but don't you think we are a better team now then we were when we got our first 3 losses? I really believe this mid season point is a great time to guage your team. From here out, I believe we will win more often than not. There's a reason Saban put Sage in a few weeks ago. I do see him dealing with the QB situation. I'm not sure that involves benching Gus, but I am certain Saban will deal with it.

I agree, I have FULL trust in Saban, I know he wont stand for the way we have played for much longer, someone is going to feel the wrath and I have a feeling Gus is next....I just hope Saban takes care of things in time to be competitive this season, I cant tell you how bad it hurts to see Zach and JT playing for their lives out there, only to be dissapointed over and over again, these guys deserve a ring, or at least some winning seasons before they step away.

3-5 is about right, the team is below average/average in a league where any team can beat anyother team, except the Texans. A good team can beat another good team on the road, and the Phins lost to two very mediocre at best teams on the road. I'm pretty happy with 3-5 at the midway point with a new system.

I know man...I think about the JT and Thomas thing a lot. Thomas is an animal out there. They both give everything. You can see the loyalty there for sure. Heck, I thought about it with the Marino tribute today. They had a lazy Tony Siragusa wearing his Superbowl ring interviewing Dan Marino.
