This team is on the brink of serious contention but is being held back by one postion

If you don't think Miami's line is good at pass blocking then you just don't know football

This front office is doing a great job...of keeping us mediocre. We will saty right around 8-8 pick mid 1st round and be right back where we are today. Looking for a QB

you are 100 percent right, the only thing that is holding us back from being a serious contender is 1 position. unfortunately, that 1 position is also the most important position in the nfl these days by a landslide.

without a marquee player at the position, unless we are fielding the 85 bear or 2000 ravens defense, it will be very hard to be a serious contender.

its been 10 plus ****ing years since this team has tried to address the qb position with a serious talent.

damn, their are just times like this where i wish myself or some others on this site were running the team, maybe we would actually field a quality team then, with a qb, rather than good with scrubs at the position year in and year out.

the quarterback position. we have a defense that is on the verge of establishing itself as being elite, yes I'm talking top 5, we were 6th last year and I think we can take that step to the next level, were young, big, and physical, although i would like to see us upgrade the FS position and I'm still not totally sold on Sean Smith I still think this defense is going to be real good for years to come, not to mention we have Mike Nolan calling the shots. Now on the other side of the ball we do have some playmakers, marshall, bess, thomas, bush, hartline, clay, gates, a good offensive line, and i would still like to see us add one more playmaker but the offense for the most part is there, but there is one problem and thats the QB position, I think it is holding this whole team back from being a serious contender this year, I hope Henne proves us wrong but I just dont see it, if he hasnt gotten it now Idk if he ever will. It's not necessarliy his physical attributes its the "little things". the guy has a great arm and can make all the throws in the NFL and from what I hear the guy does work hard and is at the gym before anybody but thats not the problem, its the small intangibles that matter. I remember watching one of our games last year and rich gannon saying that he studied hennes games and that his pre-snap reads are horrible, he does not adjust well at the line of scrimmage, he does not read defenses well, I also remember last year in the browns game on our first drive it was a 3rd & 9 from around the 30yrd line of the browns and henning gave henne the option to call a pass or run a draw, well in the huddle henne looked at ricky and says "were running a draw", thats not the makings of a leader, I want a guy who wants the ball in his hands in the clutch situations, who feels confident he is going to get the first down, I dont think he is an "alpha male", when he walks into the lockeroom do the players look at him as the leader? I dont think they do, like i said i dont think he has "it", bradford gets it, freeman does, matt ryan did, flacco does, sanchez does, and even colt mccoy seems like he gets it, idk i just dont think henne will ever have "it" because its something u have to be born with, and its holding this team back from taking that next step.

THANK U!!! I don't see this guy as a leader. He had a few years to progress n he hasn't. N like u said other qbs could see that he doesn't have it. N we had several chances to get a qb this draft n offseason. Pay orton for couple of years, bcuz we're not going to get luck so y should we waste an opportunity. We're solid at most positions except qb. This is a qb league n we're not even competitive. I'll root for my team but its disappointing to know we're missing a few pieces n one of the pieces is the most vital.

You are reaching when you list untested rookies among our playmakers. Last year we had no running game, and I'm not sure trading Ricky and Ronnie for Thomas and Bush is going to change that.

Also, if we are one position away, I think that position is HC.

Lmao, all these people talk like franchise quarterbacks grow on trees

Nobody is saying that, quite the opposite. We're saying we dont need a superstar qb to be a good/great team, just a middle of the pack guy. Unfortunately we're stuck with a bottom of the pack guy.

Someone pls show me an offense that gets it done without a balance. Our oline didn't get it done, the "run" did what for us, and of course follows the pass will fail also. At some point when the defense locks up the run game and gets sacks in the pass, we will appear as a weak offensive team.

Well he seems to get it waaaay more then henne does, he is far and above a better athlete then henne, he can improvise and scramble out of the pocket, and he has a nack for making big throws in big games and he has already led his team to 2 afc championships, as much as i hate sanchez i would have to disagree with u it seems like the kid gets it and he def has "it".

Actually he tends to throw balls to the opponant way more then Henne, he just happens to also be lucky enough to have thrown to defensive players that drop sure INTs.....If all the TDs and INTs that were dropped on Sanchez last year were actually caught, Sanchez QB rating would have been so low, it would have been frigid.

Youre right they dont grow on trees...but they also arent located on the Free Agent Sales rack. Same thing year after year.

I tell you the funny thing about this, with all the free agent QB's 90% of them Miami fans didnt want to take a chance on rather by trade of FA pick up. So to disown the QB's we have now, it should be a quiet room.

Yup, "another year." Thats what we say "every year."

Just as pissed as you are however we do not have another option at this point unless Moore beats him out in training camp. I honestly do not think Henne has what it takes to be a #1 int he NFL but I just do not see any other options for us this year.

imo we should offer cinn a 2nd and maybe a player to get palmer, just to see if it will work, if it dose great, if not try and get orton or kitna. but imo we can use our 1st next year and maybe a 2nd the year after to move up to get luck or one of the other 2 QBs ava in the draft next year, and dont say we need the extra picks for other players because until we get a QB we dont need other players ,look at atlanta they gave all theres to get a player that they think is going to take them over the top (SB) but until we gamble we are going to be the same ole ,same ole

Omar was just on wqam and he said that Henne looks absolutely broken. He said you could see all of the fans booing was certainly affecting him. I think this guy is just too mentally weak to be an NFL QB. I really really really hope he proves me wrong this year, but I'm starting to look elsewhere once again.

Hey how about this....every day when you go to work, have someone stand over your shoulder. Make sure they tell you "you suck" at your job over, and over, again. Make sure that they tell you a 5th grader could do a better job than you. And don't forget to have the tell you they are looking to replace you the next time you mess up (even just a little). And even when you do a good job, have them tell you that it wasn't as good as "Joe" down the hall would have done. One more thing, make sure they "needle" you going to and from your car. After about a WEEK or two, see if you are second guessing everything decision you make. See if you feel "broken".

Well I'm not really confident in the running game, the OL, the starting TE, or #2 WR, but I guess QB is the only position we need!
