If you told me 6 months ago that the Miami Dolphins would be fighting for a spot in the playoffs not even a year removed from one of the worst seasons in NFL history I would have told you to pass me what ever you were smoking. Yet here we are. You know towards the end of the season last year I was actually rooting to go 0-16. No not simply for the first round pick but for our proper place in history to be the only team to hold the Undefeated and Defeated record. There is a certian completness in that.

So this season even more I wish we didnt win that Ravens game because of how incredible this turnaround has become. How fitting for a historicaly, history making team to go from the worst team to the most remarkable turn around in NFL History. And much like in the Shula 70's or with Dan Marino I am starting to get that feeling back in my gut especially when it looks like we have managed yet again to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Unlike the past few years where I would have paid my tab at the sports bar and been in the car long before the ball left the foot of Adam Vineteri fo the game winning field goal, this year my faith has been restored and that is thanks to Bill Parcells first and foremost but Mostly Tony Sporano and Chad Pennington.

I actually have hope again. Not a lets go undefeated hope or even a lets get through the playoffs hope but a, "Thank God there is a future here again" Hope. We have smart people in control again off and on the field. We have a coach who seems to understand the team and they understand him. We have a quarterback who last year I called him things like spegetti man and gumby and now I praise as a hero and MVP. Its a good feeling.

The Networks and ESPN seem to be cautioutly waiting until the end of the season to get excited but you watch. If the planets align and moon is in the right place, at the end of the Jets game the Miami Dolphins will once again Rise from the ashes and stand tall while the rest of the word finally notices a new history in the making. And that makes me excited. That gives me hope. And If my dream is just that a dream then that will be ok too because we have already laid the foundation for a new history and I wont have to spend all summer with that sick feeling in my stomach waiting for pre season again.

How could you root for us to go 0-16? That is the tytpe of embaressment that can set a team back years and have a serious impact on getting free agents. At least now it is alot more of an afterthought.

Otherwise, I am happy to see the nostagia.

I just hope we can get it done.

Believe me, I hated the idea of 0-16 but realistically 1-15 isnt much better. But I figured since we had 16-0 that 0-16 would complete the circle. Sick I know. I am on medication.

There's a huge difference between 1-15 and 0-16 just as there's a huge difference between winning the Superbowl but having one loss or going undefeated like 1972.

We still today boast about that undefeated season and how it may never ever be done again. Don't you think the same would be done if we went 0-16, it would never be forgotten, we would have been the laughing stock of the entire NFL for years to come.

Huge difference!!!!!

love the euphoric nostalgia..its nice to hope and dream again. and with things the way it is, seemingly, we see the light at the end of our dark hole our favorite team has been sent to. we have a bright future. with our coaching staff, we see things are possible and we have a team who loves and respects our coaches, something that hasnt been apparent maybe since the first or second Wannsted year. a coach who is respected throughout the NFL and believe me, alot of Free Agents will be looking our way this offseason.and as all things seem possible, watching this group put everything on the line for this team and coaches, it is a remarkable sight. a defense who struggled at the beginning has become one of the best red zone defenses in the NFL. a quarterback willing to put his body on the line, making blocks to help us progress to the endzone.honestly, it wouldnt surprise me if in a few years to come, another team has a perfect season. but as i try and perceive this future, i see the dolphins are the ones able to accomplish this feat again.

I think that would have made our hires worthless such as Sparano, Parcells and Ireland. We could have hired Wanny if we planned to go 0-16.

3rdan you are missing the big point here. For almost the entire season I dreaded the thought of going 0-16 I know its horrible. But now looking back from a year we ever expected to have you have to think that, that one game in the course of historical events would have changed the equation quite a bit. Even the news media would approach it different. For just one game? Really do you think if we went 0-16 Wayne wasnt going to hire Parcells and we wouldnt be exactly where we are? Come on brutha, think in the abstract. I think it would be a much bigger story. Thats all I'm saying.
