This team will win alot of games

agree, i thought we could be a 10 win team before monday, and i'm even more confident now we can be a 10+ win team. The defense will be fine, you don't go from #6 to #32 overnight while upgrading two key positions, can't be lights out everynight playing against the best qb in NFL history, defense is the least of my worries tbh... if Henne and the oline can continue their solid play we WILL be a 10 win team

Well, weren't people predicting 3 or 5 wins? Is a 10-win-missed-playoffs season suddenly the kiss of death for this team?

Seriously, I wonder if we got into the playoffs and lost, if guys are going to start clamoring for Sparano's head for "missing the chance" and bringing someone to "get us over the hump".

If you were hoping for a Superbowl this year I'm sorry to dissapoint, there's *very* little chance of it happening. That was true 6 months ago, it's true today, and it'll be true in 4 months. This team is challenging for a WC spot, at best.

I know its nice to look at a game like this and say there is reason for optimism because we did a lot of good things, but doing good things and coming up short is exactly how this team has played since the start of 2008. This loss reminds me of the Colts game in 2009, where we were playing in prime time towards the beginning of that season. We should have won that game, and were just a couple plays from doing it, but our defense just melted down and didn't get it done. It was easy after that game to be able to say that all we need to do is fix our defensive lapses and we'd be beating the best in the league, but we didn't do it. Two years later we're still suffering from a defense whose secondary has most certainly has not been fixed, and I think that with just Smith and Davis there and nobody even respectable behind them, we're weaker there than we've ever been. And I mean ever, as far as I can remember, because not even the starters are capable of playing up to their position. We also lost to the Saints that year because of just a couple lapses.

This team may win "a lot" of games, but we can win a lot and still not win what matters to reach the playoffs. Our offense can do enough good things to beat mediocre teams, but it won't do enough when combined with our defense to beat really good teams, which there is a lot of in the AFC.

So its tuesday, game over, and I've slept on it. I thought a lost would be a heart breaker for me but it wasnt for some reason. here are a few of them...

-Henne played very well, I know its only one game but if he can play 16 games like that in a season, we're going to win most of them.
-The OL was far from being the liability I thougt it would be, take out the 2 holding calls against Incog and they played well enough to give us a chance to win every week.
-Reggie Bush ran between the tackles and had some success, with the way the score was going up every 10-15 minutes, we kind of abandonned the run, no biggie because Henne moved the chains throwing the ball without any brain cramps.
-Fasano played great, except for the holding call.

I'm confident this morning, we didnt lose because our OL cant block to save their life, or because chad Henne brainfarted his way to INTs and fumbles, our because we didnt have a seam threat... losing because of those points wouldve been somewhat troublesome as we wouldnt have any way to adjust at this point in the season.

We lost because our defense couldnt get off the field wich resulted in players cramping up leaving depth players on an island against Tom Brady. I beleive this wont happen again, at least to that extent. The defense CAN adjust, they have the pieces. But please sign Will Allen because Nolan Carroll and Benny Sapp cannot have any kind of an extended role in a game.

i too think this team will get better as the season goes on
