I have been a dolphins fan since the age of 7, I am currently 27. With that being said, this is the best feeling I have ever had. It's not as if we have a bunch of big name players with the exception of Suh and maybe wake . I don't know about you guys but I am feeling extremely optimistic about the youth movement.

Me too! I've been a fins fan since around the same age but I'm 32. Its been since at least 2002 when we got Ricky that I've been as excited about the fins as I am now. Please let this.year be different and not just another year of letdowns!

Ditto. Except I'm now 51. I'm not going to bore you with the back in the day email. I'm happy with the way this front office is handling this off season and think we got lucky with Parker dropping to us. I'm of the opinion I think we have most of the players in place and the focal point is on the coaching staff. I'm 50/50 in that regard (feeling a little queasy).

You're young.. That's why. You haven't been a fan long enough to understand the trends.

I'm not saying I don't think we can make the playoffs, but 1) with Phailbin as head coach it's very tough, and 2) it's the Dolphins. They are here to hurt its fan base

Until Miami is 6-10.

Don't kill the vibe man, we are playoffs bound!! This is the first time that I can remember feeling so great about the future of this team. Philbin's presence is the only thing keeping me sober about this season though. I also have to remind myself that he's a new head coach in the league and he is improving each year as well. He may finally get it.

Look I have a lot frustration towards Philbin but we also have to remember the adversity he faced on his journey as well.. His son passed away when he took this job, right? Props to him for being able to fight through adversity and still make it as a HC. I couldn't even imagine how hard that must have been on him.

This is my comparison as well and that is my greatest fear. The '02 team was stacked with the addition of Ricky with our defense still in its prime and we had great weapons on offense in Chambers and McMichael. We went 10-6 and missed the playoffs because of injuries and Wannestedt. That is what scares me about this team because I see those similarities.

Being a 30 year old Dolphins fan this team has now been mediocre to bad longer than I can remember them when being in the playoffs every season was nearly guaranteed. Although I am a constant homer and overly optimistic I have seen this before. Now I find myself hoping for the best but expecting the worse. Hope this year is when it all finally comes together.

Or 10-6, why so negative man? We never managed to do 6-10 the past few years but yet we probably have the best team in a while but were managing to get less wins, don't add up. But I'm drunk so what do I know

I think this is the best team we've had in a long while, but it's a shame there are some glaring deficiencies which are going to drag us down a bit. Also to be honest someone posts a feeling super optimistic thread every damn year. If we don't break .500 this year, not only do Joe and Coyle need to be out, but they shouldn't be allowed back in the state.

I love the players we have added and while it does feel good finally to have some real hope about the supporting cast...I am still looking for a more dominant o-line and a running game that forces a defense to focus on stopping. I know when we see that we will be able to play the games with an advantage and utilize the weapons we have...
So is it the scheme we run or is it the coaches running it? If anybody can share some insight on that I would love to hear your thoughts.

Philbin scares me as well as the oline, linebacker, and cb. If the oline works itself out and guys step up on d to fill those spots I see a great year even with philbin. I think the oline can be average to good but those other spots I'm not so sure about.

With the offseason we've had, we should have no trouble going 8-8 again. I know I'm excited.

He's so excited, and he just can't hide it
He's about to lose control and I think he likes it!

IMO, this is the most talent we have had at the offensive skill positions for a long time. Overall, we are an improved team from last year, but two things concern me:

1. The areas that have needed to be addressed for seasons now (LB, OLine, secondary), still have not been addressed completely. We can get away at LB and in the secondary, as long as the Dline does its job, but protecting Tanny is what is going to make, or break, our season. Given up another 40-50 sacks against season will not do.

2. Philbin. Don't want to get into him much, because we all know already. I understand that the players get paid to make the plays on the field, and ultimately, win the SB, but the coach is still an integral part of the process. Philbin just doesn't do it for me, and I'm afraid we will not take that next step until he is replaced.

Until Miami is 6-10.

what is wrong with people feeling excited, or optimistic about what has happened this past off season, or even for just our youth movement as stated? is there something awful on that?

even if we did go 6-10 in 2015... is there still something wrong with feeling positive and optimistic about the youth movement and what we are doing??? stuff takes time, all the great we are working for and towards obviously might not occur 2015 like we all hope... but improvements and developments we are hoping for can definitely occur... and bring us big gains for a great future..... even if 6-10 in the 2015 season. people can still be optimistic for what we are putting together and developing. lets watch the season first!!!
