Where to begin? So many great performances in this one but due to a quality opponent and an untimely mistake it was a real nail biter. But this team overcome some adversity and made some great plays to make it happen. And just when it thought, thanks to some well executed, good play calls by a quality opponent, we were gonna lose it, the staff delivers a great defensive play call and somebody executed the play that was there to make. Except for Grant, every Dolphins player looked like they did something positive to make this happen. Some guys didn't have their best full game but still contributed. The defense had some penalties but in some huge situations was very stingy. No points out of the Grant muff and a free first down and goal? The stuff that makes wins.
Tannehill was more impressive than the stat sheet today, making good decisions and delivering more great plays that actually counted. He made two fantastic TD passes, including a great read on Damien Williams' and a perfect throw to challenge the defense with Stills. For once he scrambled instead of trying to force a throw on third down and made a defender miss. Huge play. And we've seen him bow out so many times after a late lead change, it's almost like clockwork that we have a costly sack right after losing the lead with about four minutes. Nope. He nailed a throw to Parker, who looked faster than he has all season. Rt still needs to prove he won't bow out late in the season with playoffs on the line, but he looked like a QB who has grown up today after 4 and a half years.
This win feels so huge because it was the team playing its best with relevancy on the line. At 4-5 in a tough AFC, we would be out of it. 5-4 there is still a huge, huge amount of work to do, but we are still alive, and instead of beating up on down teams, we did it versus a team with a frontline QB that was on the rise, and on the road. So excited after this!
