Since everyone is getting into their offseason wish list and predictions. I figured I'd throw mine in there as well. It may not be the flashiest that I've seen, but it would sure make me feel good about us going into next season.

Free Agency

Yeremiah Bell - Re-sign*

Renaldo Hill - Re-sign*

Jordan Gross or Mike Goff - If we let Carey go, I hope that we sign one of these two Tackles to fill his shoes.

Dunta Robinson - This would be a great FA for us. If he can get back to his form from a couple of seasons ago he could be a pro-bowler.

Draft
(only the 1st 4 rounds)
1. Brian Cushing OLB USC - He's that other OLB we need to go accross from Peezy. With Roth still here we'll have solid depth at the OLB spot.
2a. Clay Matthews OLB/ILB USC - I know this looks weird because he's from USC as well and he's an OLB. He would actually project to an ILB in a 3-4. He's got a high motor and good size for ILB plus he's extremely versatile. This draft is thin at ILB/MLB so we need to get one here. Matthews had a great Senior bowl and has amazing bloodlines. Some of you think that I might be drafting him too high but after the senior bowl and if he has a good Combine/Pro-day this will not be a reach here.
2b. Ron Brace NT Boston College - Here is the young 2 gap NT we need to take over for Ferguson. We won't have a shot at Raji but Brace might be the better all-around NT. He won't dominate in Pass Rush, but he is excellent in stuffing the gaps and preventing the run.
3. Brandon Tate WR UNC - He's got great size, hands, and runs routes extremely well. Had Tate not gotten hurt this year he'd be projecting in the late 1st to early 2nd round WR. He would be an absolute steal for us late in the 3rd round.
4. Sherrod Martin S Troy - This kid played FS at the college level and has had a couple of injuries. If he can stay healthy and we keep him at FS I think he can excel. Underrated prospect from a program that has produced some solid players.

So thats it. Obviously I think that Satele will be back playing Center. I hope that torn labrum wasn't an excuse but more of a real reason for his less the great play this past season. If he's able to come back healthy and muscle up this offseason he'll be fine. With Smiley, Thomas, and Murphy coming back I think we'll be okay in the gaurd Dept. I'm sure there will be some other smaller FA acquisitions and some late round OL and DL picks as well.

Let me know what you think.

I don't agree with the Robinson signing. And I know this is what you feel woud be a great off season, but we have far too many needs to draft two LB's in consecutive rounds.

I don't agree with the Robinson signing.

Fair enough....but why? hehe Not arguing just value your opinion on it. I understand where you are coming from. But really I think OLB and ILB are two of our biggest needs. We know that BP likes LB's. If we don't sign Crowder we will def need an ILB and if we don't sign a Suggs or Dansby in the offseason than we really need an OLB to go opposite of Joey. Wake is being groomed behind Joey. I think OLB/ILB/NT are our biggest needs.

Edit: Oh and keep in mind I still think we get a couple of other not so big named FA's for depth and ST just like we'll get some depth in the draft as well. Hopefully a "diamond in the rough Safety".

As important as OLB and ILB are to this team right now, we still have an Oline that needs help, we have a huge need at NT....HUGE!!! We need a Saftey. Don't forget we signed Wake to the richest deal ever for a CFL player, I think the Dolphins have plans for him. That's an OLB I think is gonna be shored up, JMO.

i dont know if i would call that "great".
i dont want to sign gross to Pro Bowl LT money to play RT for us, that wouldnt be great. i rather keep carey.

Cushings is injury prone and plays for a nasty defense which would allow him ot look better than he actually is, same argument on Mathews excet he didnt even look that good in college, that is a BAD pick. I dont want either. Duke Robinson, or Luis Delmas in the first, second-Ron brace and Erik Woods, third-B OLB available, and 4th-Jasper Brinkley

I agree with you on most of what you are saying. We do have an O-line that needs help. But Thomas and Smiley coming back really helps us in that department. RT is where we really need to find someone whether it be via draft or Free Agency. There are a bunch of Tackles available this year in FA. I feel like we should shore one up or re-sign Carey. As far as NT is concerned I'm with you there too all the way. But lets look at our options here. BJ Raji would be awesome. But lets be real. I don't think we have a realistic shot at drafting him especially after his performance at the senior bowl. There aren't any NT's hitting the FA market other then Haynesworth. If he doesn't get signed. Do we want to spend a ton of money on him???? I dunno. Brace is probably the 2nd best option in the draft as far as NT is concerned. I think we really really really need to do whatever we can to draft Ron Brace. He and Fergie will work for us while Brace gets his feet wet.

As far as Wake is concerned. I'm not sold on having him as our main option accross from Joey. I want to be sold, I really do. Really if we draft Cushing, I'd like for Cushing and Wake to be nightmares for opposing QB's for years to come.

i agree we dont go LB with both of our top picks. I also have dont see matthews as a ILB in the 3-4 both he and Cushing are more suited to the outside although Cushing might be able to play some inside.

Definately dont want Mike Goff but would love robinson. I want us to sign McFadden from Pitt. he will only get better.

Word on the street is that we are working on resigning Carey. That would be sweet because Goff didn't really make me tingle but Gross would have been good. I like Carey and hope we resign him.

I read a couple of scouting reports on Matthews expressing that he would project to ILB or OLB. Knowing how BP likes his LB's. Based on Matthew's size I would peg him at an ILB in our 3-4 system. Cushing has the right size for an OLB in our 3-4. Here is one link of the top of my head about Matthews and projecting to 3-4.

http://www.draftcountdown.com/scoutingreports/olb/Clay-Matthews.php

If his measurables are accurate he is built more like an ILB.

Robinson or McFadden would work. I really liked Robinson. It's a shamed he got hurt because he was on his way to big things. I'd like for him to start back on that path in a Dolphins uniform. Ton of upside and was showing it in the pro's till he got hurt.

do you know that for certain? can you sit there and guarantee they're coming back? can any of us? no we can't...and if they do come back...will Smiley be able to play like before, and will Thomas be able to play like he did before his injury? none of us really knows for certain...every position right of Jake needs to be addressed and fixed so we don't have defenses walking right up the interior of our OL like Baltimore did in our playoff loss to them...

And that right there is where the original poster got mixed up. Cushing would be the one that would be more likely to make the move inside in a 3-4 scheme.
