Shuan Alexander couldn't do it alone....Seattle lost

Parker and Bettis share the load.....Pittsburgh won

....Now a days, you need to have 2 good backs if you want to win in this league...

If Shaun Alexander couldn't do it alone this year, what makes you guys think Ronnie can do it alone next year???

:sidelol: This is asinine. I would bet you that the Steelers would trade all their running backs for Alexander.

Oh comon:lol:

Shaun Alexander did absolutely nothing wrong in the game. Bettis and Parker? Bettis didn't do almost anything to win the SB itself, more like Parker broke one big run otherwise they were shut down the whole game.

This SuperBowl showed us why its important to bribe the officials before the game. That's about the only thing this game showed me. Horrible game, horrible champion - worst super bowl since cowboys/colts

I'd like to see what Ronnie could do if he had Morris backing him up. Morris is a lot better than most think.Of course, he wouldn't get the amount of carries Ricky would but I'd like to see him get more PT.

Then again I really like RW and want him to stay but I support whatever's best for the future of the franchise.

This thread is ridiculous....Shaun Alexander did not lose this game and the duo of Parker and Bettis didn't win this game....a 75-yard touchdown run by Parker and a 43-yard WR Reverse pass won this game.....Don't be a fool and analyze things out of context...:refuse:

Best comment about last night's debacle, if sports writer were half honest, they'd be taking the NFL to the woodshed over last night's game. The game last night makes the WWE look honest! :shakeno:

you cant be talking about pittsburgh with that statement.

I love the concept of having the 2 headed Running back monster like Miami does. Especially with Ronnie and Ricky, you can't go wrong. They definetly have 2 different styles of running much like the Bus, and Parker, and Staley.

You can't go wrong with 2 stud backs!!!!!

I don't see why all you guys are ripping into him. He makes a great point about good teams and their offensive philosophy. No, the RBs weren't the difference maker in the SuperBowl (that was the refs), but it sure didn't hurt to have 2 different styles of runners. Thats great for a change of pace, hence the faster back running for a 75 yrd TD and the bruiser back helping get a few 1st downs to help close out the game. Just like a team uses multiple receivers to throw to, why not multiple backs to hand off to? And lets not forget about injuries (ie Cheifs). I want Ricky to stay, don't you? F TO, don't want him.

I wasnt Ripping him....2 Different Backs is nice but IMO with Ronny and Ricky there is no "change of pace" they are both power backs with Breakaway speed...Minor would be our change of Pace. Of course its a nice luxury to have R&R but he (Ricky) has 1 strike left and is closing in on 30 rapidly a high draft pick is a bird in the hand to me...to go along with that Ronnie seemed to be the type that got stronger the more carries he got and he wont have that opportunity with Ricky here. I Dont want Ricky to go unless we get "VALUE" for him but I certainly see him as more of a luxury than a necessity.

Naaa, the SB showed us how important a quality Qb is far more important that a back up Rb.

If Ricky is the key to getting one, he needs to go. If not, he can stay but you can bet that Saban is exploring this......

And I suppose Pitts DL had nothing to do with it ?? You're right that SA couldn't do it alone, he had to have assistance from his OL, QB, WRs, FB, etc...it just didn't happen. Pitts defense took Alexander out of the game and the Seattle recievers turned back into the pumpkins they have been for the previous two seasons not being able to catch a cold if Hasselbeck hit them in the hands...Having two Alexanders wouldn't have made a difference in that game.

Look at our games where the running game died...in nearly all of them, we LOST...

BTW, Seattle had 137 yards rushing averaging 5.5 ypc. Nearly every team could take 137 yds and 5.5 ypc and win....

Edited: And that's without a 75 yard single rush either to skew the numbers...
