Matt Ryan, seems to me that most dolfans here belive it to be a given that a Long will be drafted #1 by miami and while I dont know one way or another it seems that surprises are comin place on draft day when it comes to miami.

In fact looking at BP's approach to FA signing Torbor,Anderson,Starks and Ferguson it looks as if those players have added depth and perhaps 3 starters to the defense,it would not surprise me to see the phins draft Ryan at 1 then an OT at 2 perhaps a Baker or Collins and even go G with the second 2nd rnd pick giving them a QB,T and G that can grow together.

leaving them still the 3rd and 4th rounds to add starters to the defense in either the secondary or MLB spots.
 
That would not surprise me at all.... The fact of the matter is that the Fins have 7 OL under contract right now. We normally keep 9.... we are going to have to draft and bring in a couple more via FA at the minimum. Hell, we dont even have a RT on the roster.

More likely IMO, will be us taking C Long then going OL with two of the next three picks.
 
Yeah, I think if we can get two OL in the first three picks they can grow with J. Beck. We don't need Ryan...he is just the best of this class of QBs, which isn't all that special. Kinda like draftin A. Smith, or A Rodgers just cause they are what's available.

Jury is out on Beck, who IMO would play much better with an improved OL and receivers who can catch.

And there is nothing to go on with Ryan yet.
 
THe question will remain ....who does BP like better Ryan or Beck. We won't know that until the draft. All speculation at this point.

Him being intersted in Flacco as reported on the NFL network would leave me to believe the shades of grey answer...not sold on ryan, on the fence with Beck, go with beck and bring in Flacco to compete for the starting job. But that of course is my speculation.

Can't wait to see how it all plays out come draft day.
 
I'll give you a couple rookie surprises...

Curtis Lofton will be DROY.

Johnathan Stewart will make the pro bowl as a rookie.

Dominique Rogers-Cromartie will be a top 10 pick

The Fins will draft atleast 3 starters and no less than 5 heavy contributors this year.
