I think so. McD is a “professional “ football coach and if he wants to be respected vs being one of the boys, he should up his game. The clown look creates a clown persona.

Good or bad, right or wrong, people judge you by the way you look and how you conduct yourself. They may not tell you that you look and act like a clown but they will walk away thinking that anyway. If McD wants to be taken seriously he needs to start acting and carrying himself like a professional football coach. He may not have the self awareness to realize it, but trying to be cool around his players is creating a culture of familiarity breeds disrespect. Someone like Ross needs to take him aside and tell him the truth, that people aren’t taking him seriously and it’s seriously undermining his leadership and the team culture.

I’m old school as well and would love all coaches to dress like Tom Landry, but now coaches wear whatever they want. Bill Belicheat dressed like a slob. But in the list of things McD needs to improve or evolve in, his capris are not the priority.

If McD changed his dress it wouldn't be real, and today's players value authenticity.

It's kind of like the way people dressed in the 50s when they went to church, vs. the come-as-you-are culture of mainstream churches today. There are two different viewpoints on this one.

It would be fun for the NFL to require coaches to wear vintage retro suits on throwback jersey games.

I would love it, and I think McD would love it. Andy Reid, might not enjoy it too much, although he has a great sense of humor and would likely go for it !00%.
