what becomes of ZT if we switch to a 3-4? no way he has the size to take on lineman. we all know how the tuna loves the 3-4 with that big physical front 7. ZT wouldnt garner much in a trade and retiring wouldnt do us a he11 of a lot of good. i hate the idea of ZT kind of fading away into obscurity after being the face of the franchise for so long. i say we make him take a very significant paycut and play him as a situational LB in the 4-3, 3-4 hybrid defense. i mean, what else is there?

and i am definitely on the beau bell bandwagon (MLB from UNLV). dude hits so hard it hurts me sometimes. just the kind of physical backer the tuna likes.

how do you figure? i havent seen hardly any 3-4 the past three years.

how do I figure? Have you seen the games or read about the team? Saban's defense was a base 3-4 in 05 and 06 and capers kept it that way in 07. And if you remember in 05 he played in 14 and 16 games respectively

If Thomas isn't in Parcells plan, they need to release him. That way if he chooses to return he can pick his team and have a chance at playing for a contender. Sadly, I doubt Zach will be back. His salary, size, and age makes it unrealistic for a rebuilding team converting to a new defensive scheme to keep him.

You answered your own question. It does'nt look like Zach fits into Parcells plans. We all love him but he's getting older and now has a concusion problem that will prob, linger.

we could always offer him some type of linebackers coach assistant job..don't we need a special teams coach? he's gotta be better than kieth armstrong and it allows him to hang with his brother-in-law,stay with the dolphins and in the community.

I wouldnt mind. We could give him a trial run, but remember not all great players make good coaches.

i would also like to see him coach and see how that works out. definitely better than keith armstrong. i am really perplexed about this 3-4 base thing the last three years - cause ive definitely been watching but and certainly havent seen hardly any 3-4. huh

Let him retire..., great..., the injury was a serious like to the head..., woukld you prefer he become a veggie

And he's lightning fast for a LB.
yes he is. i think he will be the best linebacker to come out of this draft, even with a couple serious studs coming out this year. hes fast, has good size, and hits like a freight train. what more do you want?

what about that laurengitis kid... The son of the Road Warrior... I would like him just because his pops was a bad*** mofo

I would love to see Zach retire a Dolphin, but it would have to be this offseason to do that. I really don't see parcells keeping around with his age and size. But there is something that you can't measure, ZT is a football player. Parcells knows this. He can see that Zach is a hard nosed, tough guy he has been doing this for a long time even when everyone has counted him out. the media has been saying he was done in miami for the last 3 years and that he was slowing down and couldn't compete for the last five. Zach has been more durable and and has lost as much on his game as ray lewis over that time period. I don't think zach will be playing football in miami next year, but i sure as he11 will not be the one to count him out in janurary.
