Good luck with that. Williams completely misses in pass pro last night.

The sole reason I want to keep Thomas is because he is best at this type of blocking scheme
And bar none the best receiving wideout on this team, something Lazor has heavily incorporated going back to his Marc Verica days at UVA

i don't know that thomas has read his blockers all that well since he's been here but this is a much better scheme fit oline we now have so maybe that will be something to look for...all i know is the guy plays like a 185 lb back in blitz pick up...at 230 lbs...drives me nuts...he'd lose to nickel blitzing corners and what not last year which is flat unacceptable

not that lamar miller was any better

this is ot but i have no idea why people dont like dion sims as a blocker...it's obvious that this team is gonna rely on that guy to handle in space things in the run game and i'm very happy with what i see every time i watch these games...get away from the fact that he's not a dynamic pass receiving option and look at what he brings and no one else does from a dependability aspect as a blocker in space and i think you appreciate him more

right now this team would be in major trouble if they lost him as the primary blocking tight end run and pass...he's gonna allow a charles clay to work more down the field while he handles dirty work and works underneath against zones etc

god that thill pick in the dallas game pisses me off...he's got jarvis landry sitting down in the middle of the field wide ass open and i just can't believe that he made that boneheaded a play...i better not see that kind of stuff come the regular season...i hope lazor chewed him out in film study for that one...

that's the kind of stuff i'd expect to see from him as a rookie in the preseason...a mistake like that...not a 3rd year qb that i believe is ascending to franchise level...

the only good thing i can take away from that is i know he knew what the coverage was

I've seen him juke and spin for extra yardage.

that was a nice spin move for the 2 point conversion against dallas i can tell ya that...should have been stopped in the backfield and the kid made a play...also pressed the los well on the around the corner 21 yard run which got the lb to step up inside instead of flow laterally and allowed for when he did step up inside billy turner to get on him and give the soft edge to the back...he definitely has shown in the dallas game the ability to get more than the play should have...saw a nice blitz pickup for tannehill also

carried the pile a little bit also...pad level looks good too...

I just don't see much in the two new running backs, not compared to several backs around the league who may be cut tomorrow. Many teams face tough decisions at that position. Guys like Crowell of Cleveland, Bibbs of Denver and Banyard of Minnesota might be let go. I'm sure there are others. These are guys I've seen in preseason games, featured in the finale but commentators saying they might get caught in the numbers game.

Let's be patient. Houston supposedly has a surplus of tight ends, same with Green Bay at linebackers, Minnesota at safety and Denver on defense in general. These are tidbits I've picked up from friends and sites I respect, along with watching the preseason games. Obviously there are more examples. We can't be so desperate to get rid of Daniel Thomas that we accomplish nothing except replace him with a marginal player who scares nobody and would be an underdog to survive the final cut next season.

People probably still voted for Damian because they'd rather take the WR and let him play RB before watching another year of Thomas.

Yes, he rarely goes down on first contact. I don't think he'd be a 5.0 YPC guy or anything, but he can get you positive yardage on almost every play and turns negatives into positive plays, which will help the o-line to sustain drives. Probably will grind out tough yards and eat a few carries and not be spectacular, but may be reliable against the 1's. I think we could use a guy like that right now, unless somebody better gets cut somewhere.

I'm leaning to putting D2 on the PS, and keeping DT unless we can find someone else off final cuts.

Seriously doubt Williams would stick on the practice squad or even clear waivers. Versatile, good vision and runs hard. Way too much fight in that dog to give up on. Darkwa we may be able to stash.

You may be right. Williams has flashed s0ome potential but, looking at the entire preseason's work, has not been that impressive enough to be on this year's roster. JMO

I'm trying to keep positive about most things regarding mistakes in the offense. The main reason is RT doesn't know any other offense than what Sherman had installed. It's a learning process. Some Os (like Trestman's) takes a couple years to get comfortable in. It seems RT has picked this one up pretty quickly, but still has some reactive habits to break.

I get that but I don't see it as a function of the new offense I see it as he knows it's 2 deep and he makes a first year player like mistake in that he stares it down the entire time when all he had to do once he recognizes the coverage is hold the safety to that side by looking to the inside and he's got a window over the sitting down corner and in front of the safety to make a play...or if he doesn't like it landrys wide open

That's not the offense that's the qb with a brain fart eye discipline wise...
