First off, as an Indiana alumni, let me say congrats on the Cam Cameron hire. I'm sure if you guys have your doubts they are focused around his record at IU. But I was a student there while Cam was the coach and we always had an effective and explosive offense. He was a good coach, its just EXTREMELY difficult to recruit at IU for football. And he obviously doesn't have to recruit as the Dolphins coach. But good luck with next year.

I do have a question, sorry if this is in the wrong place, but... I'm putting together a plan to go down to Miami to watch my Colts in the Super Bowl. Flights and hotels are ridiculous and impossible to find, so my friends and I got the idea of renting an RV, my question is where will we be able to tailgate with this thing at Pro Player? The Super Bowl website says there are no RVs allowed in the NFL controlled lots... are there private lots near the stadium? If so do any allow RVs and where can I get info on them? I've looked around online but can't find any info. Most of us don't have tickets and just plan on tailgating, so before we go through with this we need to know if we'll be able to tailgate with a 30' RV. Thanks a bunch.

Not sure if you will find a private lot close to the stadium where you could park an RV. It's not a very good neighborhood and its basically private owned businesses charging for parking outside the stadium not actual parking lots.

Hopefully someone can help you out with better info.

Thanks for the kind words about Cameron!

I think Cameron will do a good job.

I think that there are some grass lots for RVs at Pro Player.
I'm not too sure though.

There is a lot for RV's on the West side of the stadium, and has been for years. I've never used it or anything like that so I dont know what all is involved in getting in there, or if they will let you do it for the Super Bowl.

Good to hear about Cameron, no idea about RV parking. Good luck to your Colts, I'll be rooting for them for sure. I do NOT want Manning to always have that statement hanging over his head that Dan Marino does: "But he never won a SB". Go Colts!

Like Disgustipate said, there's an RV lot at the stadium. You'll be fine. (By the way, it hasn't been called Pro Player Stadium for years. It was renamed to Dolphins Stadium, then they dropped the S and now call it Dolphin Stadium.)

Congratulations on your Colts making the Super Bowl, and I hope you enjoy South Florida.

Thanks for the info... What did Pro Player stand for? It wasn't something commercial was it? That would be great to see a stadium actually change its name from something commercial to something non commercial, I hate all these branded stadiums, I miss the Hoosier Dome. I guess I remembered it as Pro Player from when the Colts were in the AFC east.

Based on the SB website I'm guessing the RV lot is for hired motorcoaches and that type of thing for the SB. What about these businesses that charge for parking... does tailgating go on there? Are some fairly large? How far off from the stadium are they and how bad of neighborhoods are they in? I guess they would allow the RV if I pay for multiple spots.

The stadium was originally Joe Robbie stadium, the owner of the Dolphins at the time it was built, then later renamed to Pro-Player which was a sports brand at the time not sure if it still is, then renamed to Dolphin stadium.

The private businesses I was talking about are actually like Quick e marts, and such  I wouldn't want to park an RV there. Given the scale of the super bowl I would think that west lot will be taken up by production trucks.

Your best bet might be to find a park to camp in with the RV and take a cab to the stadium the day of.

You can look up Markham Park about 15 minute ride to the stadium, they have campgrounds but not sure about the RV accomodations.

I am a Diehard Iowa fan and know plenty about IU. Before Cam's hiring I PREACHED what your saying. Thanks for some reinforcement.

What about the Walmart on 27th Ave. right by the stadium? Is it in view od the stadium? Do they allow parking? Will we hear crowd noise there?

arent all walmarts RV friendly? your best bet to to mapquest the walmart and stadium and itll let you know the relative relation of the two

No go on the Walmart. i actually just found out that there is no tailgating within a 1 mile radius of the stadium! No tailgating at the Super Bowl! Isn't that ridiculous? We were think about going 1.1 miles away.... how bad is that neighborhood?
