OK, so I'm at work, watchin' the Mets & Marlins, and I get this thought; The Marlins Season will end on 10/1. This thankfully means we'll only have to play 2 home games on the Infield dirt this year.
I know that there are varying opinions speculating on the health of Daunte Culpepper. Based on all we've been hearing (With apologies to the crew at NFL Live), I think most of us feel that Daunte will be awfully close to being ready for the opener on Sept. 7th in Pittsburgh.
IF he is ready, but not quite 100%, what do you think the chances are that in those 2 Home games on the Infield dirt (9/17 Vs Barfallo & 9/24 Vs Tenn) when we have the Ball on O and our field position puts us in the dirt, Saban plugs in Joey for those snaps, until the ball is either out of that part of the field (or in the End Zone)?
Is this a crazy idea, or pure genius.......?

I am probably going to get drilled for this.

What if Cleo Lemon looks strong?

What if he gets the snaps only if we are on the infield on the opponents side of the field.

Harrington takes the snaps on the dirt when we have the long field. Use all three in those two football games.

Or run the football with Touchdown Ronnie Brown.

Paydirt.

The way they the

The way the Marlins are playing tonight there season may be lasting longer. play Daunte just be conservative with the playing calling when the offense is on the dirt

REGARDLESS of how they played tonight, they won't be going to the playoffs, let alone playing past 10/22, which believe it or not is the date of our 3rd home game......

i hate the dirt id love to get rid of it and put in turf for the rest of the year. i think it would help to O. and help c pep's knee.

I hate the dirt. Remeber the 2003 game against the Pats where the always reliable Mare missed a game winning FG at the end of regulation, and then another in OT to help the Pats win. I am almost certain that BOTH of those FG's were on infield dirt. That win would have also put us in the playoffs that year!!!! Get rid of the dirt!!!

You cant worry bout the dirt ,these guys are football players they play in rain and snow,id be more worried bout Daunte taking a hit to the knee than anything, but hey its a dangerous game. They'll be fine.

It is actually proven that the dirt has caused more injuries then when it was not there. Baseball sucks.

Is it me or does it feel like the Marlins will be back in the World Series by 2010 . . its crazy how they develop their young talent.

Anyways, it will be interesting to see how the dirt will effect Daunte if he's available, a definite hazard for his knee.

I wouldn't be worrying about that. By the time 2008 rolls around, Mr. H will be kicking the Marlins out of Dolphin Stadium either into their own stadium or moving to Buffalo and/or San Antonio. :sidelol:

I watched Duante play at UCF for 4 years live... in Orlando.

He is the real deal.. If he is healthy we got a steal in the 2nd round.

That is how excited I am about the 2006 Saban campaign.

Fly your Dolphin car flags proud right now...

We are the real deal this 2006 season.

That's funny I did too. I am very excited that we got him. Finally grabbing that missing piece of the puzzle.

At work watching TV,I`m sold right there.

That dirt has always been a pain for the Dolphins. They really need to find a way to get rid of it during football season.

Go Dolphins

run ronnie but keep culpepper in the game i dont think saban would take him out just because of dirt
