Hey guys a name I haven't seen brought up to much as an option for our LB core is Gerald Hodges. Played for the 49ers last year and started 12 games. From what I know he is solid against the run and also defends the pass well. The guys has had a slow start to his career but at 26 I wonder if he is starting to turn a corner. Anyone more familiar with the player? Very intrigued and would prefer him over Timmons.

Included is a draft profile video from 2013.

This guy likes to party a bit...but I think he played in a 4-3 in Minnesota

Yeah he's not due for a huge payday quite yet and I wonder if he would be a prime canidate to come in on a 2-4 year deal to start and earn that 1 giant payday. From what I saw he could definitely play in the 4-3.

He a very solid LB.but not a superstar LB. We still need 2 way above average OLB.

Well we can't afford to sign superstars everywhere, for the money he'll get I doubt we could do much better in FA at his age.

Most definitely better than what we have now(Not saying much), I didn't know to much about him until a few weeks ago but watching the film and seeing the progression he has made I don't know if there are many better options that have upside. I was hoping someone with better knowledge of his on field play could chime in, very limited film that I watched.
