Tannenbaum was hired as our "Czar" in Feb. of 2015 but was a "consultant" from Aug of the year before. I have to believe that he was making all the final decisions on what was done in last year's off season. Here's the run down on what he did.

Free Agency

Suh
Cameron
Jennings
Brice McCain
M Moore
Delmas

Likenbach
McClendon
Paysinger
Le Mike James

Draft Top Picks

Parker
Phillips
Douglas

Other Deals

Extended Pouncey
Extended Tannenhill
Traded for Stills
$10M left in the bank

So, how do you think he is doing so far?

The sooner he leaves, the better.

I think he definitely screwed up the LB's -- hiring no-name guys, and signing a slew of UDFAs to shore up an already lacking unit was a pretty underwhelming strategy. I hope Tannenbaum realizes in the future that method is very high-risk.

The OL, pre-start of season, I'm not sure I can fully blame him for. Philbin seemed very confident in Thomas and Turner, and Tannenbaum may have figured if he acquired another OG, would Philbin even play him over Douglas/Thomas/Turner? However I do blame the FO for the constant merry-go-round of waiving/re-signing Brenner and Linkenbach, only to have them essentially unavailable when needed most. Poor management.

I liked the Suh signing at the time, started to sour on it mid-season, but now I'm OK with it again.
Extending Tannehill, I liked at the time, now I'm not so sure -- Why resign him when Joe is on his do-or-die year? Luckily Gase seems OK with Tannehill for now, but if he wasnt, that wouldve been a big turn-off for the Miami job.
I liked trading for Stills, shame he didn't get the ball thrown his way more, or used in other ways than just the one deep guy all game.

Our record speaks for is self. He a had a year of consulting for the team, you'd think he would know what our priorities were.
1-get rid of JOE
2-get guards
3-get LB
4-get CB
Thats just off the top of my head

His first year was already a year too long.

But in typical dolphins fashion we're going to keep him here to run the franchise into the ground for another half a decade.

If he hits on Adam Gase that could really turn around the entire franchise. Overall, guess it's too early too tell. I liked that he was aggressive in bringing in Suh as it's rare that a player of that caliber makes it to free agency. I love the move, but Miami needs to get players around him.

Don't know how much say Tannenbaum had in the draft, but I loved the Parker pick and think he has superstar potential. Parker showed that at the end of the year. Overall, not sure that draft was that great although there may be some potential in some of the later round corners (Lippett and McCain).

One year isn't a lot of time to right the ship. Let's see how this year goes and if the team makes progress under Gase.

If I was to give him a grade it would be an incomplete. This upcoming season will be his first with his selection of head coach. Gase has done a good job (on paper) of filling out his staff and I think that we will see a completely different product on the field in 2016. I am not ready to say that they will be fighting for a playoff spot since they have so many holes to fill that it will be difficult to fill them all in one offseason. But I think the team will be entertaining to watch. In 2017 we will be able to finish filling the gaps in the next offseason and then compete for the playoffs. Hopefully all the talk we are hearing about how everyone will be on board with the draft picks pans out so Gase can get the types of players for his scheme on both sides of the ball. There is talent on the team so hopefully they are able to gameplan around it.

I left out the coaching decision this year as we have no idea how that will play out. However, we did keep 9 assistants and I believe Tannenbaum had some "input" on keeping them while some are in different positions. I was hoping for a clean sweep but, we continue to make half decisions which lead to half assed results, which we all have seen too often.

To my disappointment, I expect some of the same in player moves this off season.

I agree with your thinking but, he made decisions on Stills, Cameron, Suh, etc without knowing who the coach would be. IF the new DC wants to go 3-4, think Suh is a fit and will be happy? Yet, he made the move and ignored others like a CB when there were good options out there.

I agree that some of the moves were questionable, at best, but there was no fixing this team in one year. Just like this year, they won't be able to fill all of the holes with Gase's type of players and they will still be a work in progress. Hopefully there will be stability in the front office and coaching ranks so we can see the team perform up to our expectations in the next 2-3 years. With all of the crap this team has been through in the past decade or two, it's no wonder that we are where we are.

We just finished a 6-10 season. With the outlook being, another rebuild. So we a fans, get to endure another 3 years of hope and change.
