This just occurred to me...

It looks like we may be running a 3-4 defense next season. Glenn Dorsey and Sedrick Ellis are better suited to play in a 4-3. So what does that mean?

Well, first off, any team that doesn't have a Top Five pick in this year's draft doesn't have a shot at Dorsey or Ellis.

Secondly, here's what Todd McShay has to say about it...

Bill Parcells, the Dolphins new VP of football operations, will make decisions on coaches, schemes and veteran personnel between now and the draft that could steer the team in a different direction. Dorsey is strong enough to adjust to a 3-4 defensive scheme, but it wouldn't play to his strengths as a penetrating interior force. It wouldn't be cost effective for Miami to spend No. 1 money on an interior lineman in that defensive scheme, either, so OT Jake Long and DE Chris Long are strong options.

Third, any team running a 4-3 defense would instantly improve their team tremendously by adding Dorsey or Ellis. So the following teams (all of which had a piss-poor run-defense last year) would definitely be interested:

Cincinnati Bengals - 9th pick
Buffalo Bills - 11th pick
Denver Broncos - 12th pick
Carolina Panthers - 13th pick
Chicago Bears - 14th pick
Detroit Lions - 15th pick
Houston Texans - 18th pick

With Cincy, Denver, and Chicago probably the three teams most interested.

So what this means is that despite the lack of a clear-cut #1 overall prospect this year, there may still be teams interested in that #1 overall pick.

Other things to keep in mind: When you look back over Dallas's drafts the last few years, it becomes clear that Parcells and Ireland love to wheel and deal. Dallas rarely simply picked at the spot they were supposed to pick. More often than not they made some kind of trade.

Throw out your mock drafts, guys. I think we're in for a wild ride this April.

in my opinion, i think we are going to see them deal the 32 pick.

I think it would be best to trade down...Dorsey does have the chance of dropping due to his injuries for example brady Quinn but i dont kno y he droped
