Thoughts?

JT I'm in the minority, but I don't care. I bet you'll get some neithers from the hater patrol.

Being objective, if we were talking about two free agents in Jason Taylor and Brett Favre, who had both NEVER played a down in Miami for the Dolphins. I think i'd have to take Favre just because of how important the QB position is, and how weak have been at that position over the last few years.

Of course because Taylor has been a Dolphin for the last decade, i would rather have him over Farve for more sentimental reasons. I wouldn't trade him in for a guy i haven't cheered for over the years. A guy who's made so many great plays for the Dolphins and done so many great things. Plus i think JT right now is still a better player than Favre. Favre had a good season last year, but over the last couple of years he's been very mediocre compared to what he used to be.

And then as FF said in the post above, neither. I was calling for the trade of Jason Taylor from the end of last year simply because keeping him in Miami does not help this team. Neither would bringing in Favre really. Neither guy is going to bring you to the playoffs, or the Super Bowl the ultimate goals for an NFL Franchise. We should be looking long term and rebuilding with younger guys, draft picks, free agents, new blood.

Farve is not going to come in and help "build" the team. We've already got the guys for that.

Don't see it happening at all.

I was waiting for a post like this!

It would be interesting and if it were a possibility I'd say great! Jason Taylor isn't going to play that much longer anyway and it is Brett Favre.

Favre is great IMO at making receivers and I bet he can help this young group out much like he did in GB last season.

One negative is he is known for not really working with young QB's. He never really helps them grow, he lets the "coaches coach."

I for one would love to see Brett in the teal and orange, however I think the trade would need to include multiple players. Who I don't know.....maybe we trade a young guy and they send a young guy.

No on the trade. We need to look to the future not today. Out current team is not competitive or a contender. Let's get the QB of the future going and move on - Be it Beck or Henne.

(IMO) As far as JT let him swallow some pride and realize football is a team sport. Him and Tralyor were trouble causers last year, he needs to shut up, show up, and play. He has a choice of be a class guy and example, or a complaining Vet who's thinking of himself only. Bret Favre is behaving like a spoiled vet and should stay retired - I agree with Green Bays action totally.

Hey guys, thanks for the replies.

I agree wholeheartedly with the general sentiment, the biggest thing that makes it a NO for me is the great point mentioned about Favre not working well with younger QBs...I know we are building to the future, which is why neither Favre nor Jason Taylor would be very important in the grand scheme of things. My only thing is, Favre is a fierce competitor, and he will add at least 2 wins to whatever we would get without him this year, think about it...he knows how to win close ones. He could help change the attitude around here, JT is becoming cancerous...he's cynical, disillusioned, and overall he's just unhappy. That doesnt help change the losign culture, it only perpetuates the problem...If Favre was a take-a-guy-under-my-wing kinda guy I'd go for it in a heartbeat.

It seems to me that he does enjoy teaching younger quarterbacks. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't he teach Hasslebeck and Brunell?

I'd rather trade for JT for... well anyone but Favre.

Though they are very similar in the fact that neither player wants to finish their careers with the team in which they built their legacy.

I would trade JT for Favre in a heartbeat.

Taylor don't want to be in Miami and to be quite frank I don't want him here anyways. Brett now wants out of Green Bay.

It would be perfect. Then Brett starts and when he retires Henne steps in.

It won't happen though.

Nope the Bucs need another QB they only have 12 right now....

On a serious note I bet the Bucs make the biggest play for him if he becomes available.
