Having Misi back in is huge. The big advantage for me isn't so much run defense (though that's hopefully a nice bonus), it's that the other LBs won't have to bail out Trusnik so much. I can see Coyle using Wheeler and possibly occasionally McCain to help keep Rodgers coralled. We could never have considered that with Trusnik in the middle, imo. It was all hands on deck in there to contain the run and cover receivers.
Misi will be a little rusty, but he's assignment-sound and a sure tackler. I hope we use that to give GB some multiple front looks and particularly to release a LB to hurry Rodgers when the pocket doesn't contain him. As Coyle said in his interview, the nightmare scenario is letting Rodgers buy time to get open receivers deep downfield.
I don't think Reshad Jones will play a full game. I don't think it's a given either that he'll play SS, seeing as a lot of his snaps last year were more FS positioning (not that it worked well). If he does, though, and Wilson plays nickel - the knock-on effect on Finnegan/Davis/Taylor will be interesting on the other side to Grimes.
Pouncey? He's better for you at center, but it might be nice to get him in at guard and give GB something different to scheme for. It's always good for your team to be able to put out a guy who's a peer in league status to the leading guys on the other side. At guard, Pouncey's presence might be more directly felt by GB than in the center. Football Outsiders rate the GB d-line at only #25 in the league against the run and #18 in pass pro. Clearly GB's line gets better as you move out to the ends/LBs, so Pouncey at guard makes more sense to me.
As an aside, Football Outsiders has our D-line at #8 vs the run and #5 in pass pro.
