We have three VG players in our DT/NT rotation, and losing one will really hut the D. Think we had a problem with the run before, NOT due to the interior DL, imagine how bad it will be if we do not keep these three together.

Her's a run down of what each has done last year, starting wit Starks game by game.

I could have done without those stats... no one is going to read them.

Anyways, would love to keep all three... Starks has become severely underrated on this board during this season, not sure why. I think he's the most effective of the three.

Sorry about that but, do not know enough to make the stats more readable. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

The 2 will be 31 this year, demanding big payday. It's time to get younger and more affordable, Money will be needed for the Oline in FA.

We have 3 really good players on the interior of our DL, and they are all very valuable in the rotation. Take away one and the other two will suffer, no doubt about it. They keep each other fresh and depend on each other.

There are no good options to replace anyone. I had hoped we would have added one in the draft to make ready but, we did not.

Give me another option to replace one of them? It's just not out there.
 
And I'll give you three names, one or two could be on this team in the near future, who could replace Soliai/Starks:

1. Aaron Donald

2. Timmy Jernigan

3. Dominique Easley

Pretty good DT class in this year's draft + its time to get younger. Calm down.

How many DT's have come out of the draft to be good their first season in the last 5 years? How many who were not #1 picks?
 
For as good as these guys are supposed to be I sure don't think we got our money's worth last year from Soliai or Starks. The run defense at times made me sick, and in general that starts with the DT's in a 4-3. I also agree that the LB's stunk too. I'd get rid of Starks and Soliai and get younger. I just keep thinking back to that finger that Starks threw at the bench (maybe it was to all of us) in the Browns game and that controversy was just the start of the nonsense for this team and this year that keeps going. I'd get rid of him just for that reason alone.
 
Sorry but our DT's were not all that great this year. Sure they all have talent butthere were times when they seemed to not even being out on the field. How many times did the other team just marched down the field like our defense wasn't even there? Yes I know, the LB's were bad but it starts up front. For the money they'll want at their age I'd just go in a different direction.I'm not going to cry if we bring any of them back but I won't cry if we don't either.

You draft the replacements first, then you trade or release the veterans. Ireland never figured that out.
We should keep all three until their play starts to decline. Our defense would be vastly improved with better LB's. That is the defense greatest weakness going into next year.
