...for the baseball infield to be gone (finally!) from the stadium.

Still too long. With the amount of fans the Marlins attract, why can't they just play in the parking lot outside the stadium?

As much as I love the Marlins, I have two words for them....

Get out.

It will be a great day when on Opening Day you see nothing but beautiful grass grass covering the ENTIRE field at the stadium!

Now that we are getting rid of the Marlins, we have to now get rid of the Hurricanes.

The 'canes are ok by me....They play the same game so it's just a matter of changing the paint work!

Mayaswell... but seriously there is always like a maximum of 100 people there.
Most other stadiums are like mostly filled up.

Come on Marlins! Miss the playoffs so we don't have to see that damn dirt anymore than we have to! Get out and take both of your fans with you!

I saw a video of the Marlins' new stadium and it looks like it will be a nice place. It will seat 37,000 people on the spot where the Orange Bowl was at and will have a retractable roof. There will also be huge sliding door type windows which will have a great view of downtown Miami....these windows can be slid open or closed. It will be nice for Landshark Stadium to be a football only stadium.

The Marlins actually average around 15,000 fans/game and that's with unbearable heat(you have no idea how hot it is unless you're here right now), the threat of rain every day and every night, and the amount of mosquitoes, and with a middle of the pack team.

The reason why there's not that many fans is because people weren't born Marlins fans. We are just seeing those people grow up, like me and some of you.

When people in their mid 20's and up were born, Miami didnt have a team, so they rooted for NY, LA, etc.
Some changed when the Marlins came, most didnt.

But starting in the mid 90's, people started being born Marlins fans, and those people are just getting to be old enough to drive and make their own decisions and they will start going to the games more often.

ex: Me

Attendance will be in the middle of the pack as will be the payroll which could mean the team succeeding more, in all aspects of the game. And the City of Miami gets a work of art.

I hate it when other people exaggerate and have no idea what they're talking about.

15,000 if you count tickets sold and not who actually shows up. I can't blame fans for not wanting to drive as far as Landshark Stadium to watch a mediocre baseball team in the blistering heat, especially when the ownership of that team has simply no desire to put a winning product on the field on a yearly basis. However even when they get a new air conditioned stadium in the heart of Miami, the attendance will only be slightly better. It's just not a good market for sports, especially baseball.
