Three Penn State prospects

As a Buckeyes fan living in Penn State country, I’m born to not like any of them.

But man I’d love Abdul Carter (not gonna happen). But also would be thrilled with Tyler Warren and their Safety Kevin Winston Jr., who got hurt week 2 and missed the season. Might be a steal in round 3.

Tyler Warren fits what we need on offense to change up the predictability and 3rd down struggles.

I don’t see a lot of our primary needs being options in the middle of round 1, outside of maybe EDGE. Unlikely we’re taking an OL in round 1, despite the need. The big need is at both OG spots so you can wait on that, so long as you are committed to addressing it.

If one of those top OTs are available and you want to play them at LG until you see what Patrick Paul is, I could see it.

You should expect the Bears to draft a lot of OL so we might be not getting cracks at the apple, especially in the first two rounds.

A top DT or S wouldn’t shock me but Warren should be under heavy consideration as getting Tua help trumps all IMO.

Bowers ran 4.55 at the combine. Warren ran 4.7 in high school.

I think when Warren tests before the draft you're going to find that gap's narrowed substantially.

Watch his 40-yard TD catch against USC when he started as the center, or watch his 50-yard TD run from the wildcat against Purdue. He's not slow and lumbering.

Plus, he's open even when he's covered. He has athleticism, great hands, a terrific wingspan, the girth to shield the catch from the defender, the strength to pull it in and hang on even with defense hanging on him and the power to break tackles. Last I checked, a 20-yard reception is a 20-yard reception whether it took the guy 2.1 seconds or 2.7 seconds to make the 20 yards. He's also 3 inches taller and 30 pounds heavier than Bowers.

EDIT: It doesn't look like Bowers ran the 40 at the combine, so I don't know if the time I found was estimated or from his pro day.

Tyler Warren falls to us we should run to the podium his blocking is what are run offense needs can catch run he could make are offense unstoppable.
 
This Penn State team may have the greatest offensive backfield in the history of college football with Drew Allar QB, Tyler Warren TE, Keytron Allen RB, and Nick Singleton RB. (If you consider personnel formation 11, 21, a backfield and include a TE.) I cannot think of a more talented collective backfield in the past 40 years at least.

What's killed them is their WRs. The best is average. The other is fast but inconsistent and doesn't play hard. They don't have any depth there, either. Shocking when you consider Allar was a 5-star QB prospect coming in and the team routinely wins 10 games per year. They just haven't been able to recruit receivers. They have a good group coming in next year, but it doesn't help now.

Still, this group is up there with the early 90s team with Kerry Collins, Ki-Jana Carter, Bobby Engram and Kyle Brady in raw talent.

I would love to add Warren to the Offense.

Pass catching weapon who would give the Fins much needed size in that area and a devastating run blocker.

He should be in range for Miami and unless there is an OL I can't pass up I would happily take Warren.

My favorite player in this class.

The closest thing to Kittle we have seen.

Ken Dorsey hurts them, he was not a top 10 draft pick like Allar, not even close. I thought about that 99/00 Canes team, but no.

It is a shame about the widouts, that they could not take advantage of transfer portals, but that's the kind of ball they want to play, smash mouth, pro style, old school. Which is also the reason they don't score a ton and they don't get credit. Nonetheless, an amazing talent in that backfield assembled on one team.

Irv Smith did not play 1990, he was drafted in 1993

Not sure where you think those RBs will be drafted, but it won’t be high.
