Thumbs up/Thumbs down players wk#1

Thumbs down (or up) to David Garrard. Go retire you scrub, I was sooo looking forward to you leading Miami to just below the mediocrity line.

Big thumbs down to the entire coaching staff. The team was not ready to play, did not block or tackle.

koa misi made more tackles in one quarter as a 43 lb than he made his whole career prior at 34 de...he looked solid

Which is really good news...as a pass rusher he was so easily neutralized.

Kheeston Randall was getting a lot of penetration.

Tanny looked good. Made some good decisions and quick reads.

Jonathan Freeney actually looked like the second best LB on the 2nd/3rd unit. He and Trusnick were all over the place.

Roberto Wallace and Julius Pruit looked good.

Wallace and Pruitt both had a good game. They are making strong cases from themselves. Gates is in big trouble.

Matthews made a case for himself with some decent returns. Don't see him making the 53 at this point as he has too much ground to make up at WR with Wallace/Pruitt performing well.

Big thumbs up to the new offense. I like the tempo and the Phins are able to move the chains with simple passes that I always wondered why were never a part of the Phins offense before (e.g. slant). Lots to clean up but I think the offense will be potent. Obviously Tannehill looked good...against 2s and 3s of course, but baby steps, baby steps.

gates is not in trouble. His speed keeps him safe. Without gates we dont have a wr with homerun threat speed. we need him so i think hes a lock to make it.

Thumbs up
-Reggie bush Looked pretty solid tonight.
-Tannenhill The qb we have been waiting for. Needs more reps.
-Reshad jones Solid
-wallace Probably the best WR on this team.

Thumbs down

Chad johnson - cut this clown already
Jimmy wilson - he is not ready to start for us at the safety spot, no freaking way.
Sean smith- were is this MVP we keep seeing in TC? Looked awful as usual..
Jonathan martin- Needs to focus better, too many penalties from him.

still the same questions with roberto wallace he looked like he had more quick twitch and burst tonight but i saw a lot of soft coverage on him...i want to see him get off press and separate...

chad johnson with a great initial outside back inside move showed nice feet sold the vertical well but i'm starting to wonder if he hears footsteps going into traffic...

pat devlins arm is DEFINITELY stronger this year

What you talking about Willis?

Who do you cut to keep Gates then? If you keep Gates either Wallace or Pruitt can't stick. I know Gates is fast, but he needs to start producing something, anything, to stay. Wallace and Pruitt made tough catches and they didn't drop many balls tonight.
