Beam Me Up Outa Here!
Watched Brees very impressively play the first offensive NO/AZ series and drive his team into the endzone with crisp confident passing.

If only it were Drew who had the bad knee and Daunte the bum shoulder, maybe we wouldn't presently be pinning our hopes on getting a warn out, noodled arm, recently interception-prone fragile QB, have a formerly promising now gun-shy Brees type QB being destroyed by a lack of confidence whom we spent a 2 on, be compelled to root on an undistinguished journeyman, and be pinning our hopes on a QB who looks promising so far in practice but for all intents and purposes was devalued by the draft market about 25 spots below the gurus' projections, could never win the 4 games that mattered most to his school and whose trench leadership carries a red flag having at least twice been slighted/rejected by his teammates who voted other stars including Hart and Crable ...and Long twice to be their co-captains .

Just wistfully wondering if we could or would have snared Brees if the injuries were reversed, and if so, whether we'd have been subjected to that abomination of a season, be it with crappy Cam or dickless Nicky at the helm.

(sigh).

You're lucky. I got to watch Brady Quinn throw an INT and a bunch of checkdowns.

apologies to dolfan dave.. i didn't notice your similar and preceding thread until it surged to the top. Great minds think alike???

Watching Brees is depressing.

Also kind of sad to watch Tim Hightower of the Cardinals look really good because Miami were all over this guy like white on rice in pre-draft, but the Cards took him in the 5th before we could get our hands on him with one of our 6th rounders. As impressive as Jalen Parmele is, Tim Hightower probably more so and I *think* that Miami would have drafted him above Parmele.

Hightower has that 225 pound frame also but he runs pretty squat and violent in it with speed to get to the outside, really looks like a Marion Barber truth be told.

Watching Drew Stanton depressed me. I wanted him so bad, you don't even know.

Also, Calais Campbell looked good. I kept having to ask who is #93? I had to look it up on the official azcardinals website, sure enough, Calais.

Of course if Brees had been signed we may still have had Saban for another season or two, and by the looks of his drafts, he was a poor talent evaluator. Even a Brees may not have saved our sinking ship - then Saban would have bolted.

I was a big Brees fan and can't bring myself to watch him play now. Why have we had such idiots making the decisions these last years. Jamar Fletcher are you kidding when your qb is douche bag Jay Fiedler. I swear half the guys on this site could have put a better team together than wannstedt or saban.

Ain't that the truth.

The only way I can look at it that doesn't get me pissed is that we got Parcells with the 1-15 record.

:(

Threads like this are a complete waste of time. We could have drafted Tom Brady, but we didn't- life goes on.

Jamar Fletcher over Drew Brees was one of the worst decisions in franchise history. It set the stage for a series of consecutive blunders like losing 2nd rounders for Feeley or Culpepper. Wannstedts blind love for Feidler reminds me of the posters here that think those were the good ole days.

Well, i wanted hindsight is 20/20, while i very much wanted the Dolphins to get Drew Brees, i wanted Daunte Culpepper more. Turned out of course to be a mistake, but i'll be honest and not complain that we didn't get Brees who has clearly been the better player since.
