Would love to get this guy in the second, reminds me a little of Jordan Reed. He played unbelievable in the championship game. 5 catches 208 yards 2 tds. But most impressive play was a block he made that sealed a hole for a 50 yard td rush by Derrick Henry

I do not get the sense that he will be much of a blocker. If we can know how to use him(which is questionable with our past coaching staffs), I do like his kill set. We already have Cameron on the team, but he seems like he can not consistently catch catchable balls.

All he did at Bama was block. He's not going to level anyone, but he will be in the right place and hold his ground.

He will get drafted above Henry IMO.

And once the draft processs gets moving, hes going to be the talk of the town. 6'6, extremely smooth runner, can catch moving full speed, and he will rip the combine apart.

Yeah blocking is not a weakness. Won't be a strength but he can get the job done. Real sleeper in this draft and if he slips to us in the 2nd I'd be really surprised. But he'd be just what we need.. If Bama used him more, he'd be a top 20 pick for sure.

Based on his time in Denver, Gase used the tight end a lot. This may become a need for Miami if Jordan Cameron goes elsewhere. If that's the case, Howard could be the first tight end taken if he declares. Right now, he feels like a 2nd rounder but there's a lot of time between now and May.

Drafting a guy off of one game at a position that isn't a top priority=poor idea

Dude had 1 good game his entire career and you want to draft him in the 2nd?

Rickey Dudley was drafted with what, the eight pick in the draft because of a great combine?

He had more than one good game but was under used at Bama, he was an elite high school player as well. College statistics don't always translate to NFL production, it's more based off skill set, system, and coaching

Wait until the combine

I honestly don't care if he has a Vernon Davis type combine. Having great ability and only having one game to match that ability is a red flag. Also we have need at literally almost every position that outweighs our need at TE. If Miller comes back RB, WR, and possibly QB are the only positions that we don't have greater need, that's assuming that Cameron isn't a part of the future.

If Cameron gets cut, which he probably should be I think tight end is our seconded biggest need besides corner

If we wanna take a late round flier Jake McGee from Florida is a solid player 6'6" 255. But OJ Howard has the elite potential that doesn't come around often at the tight end position

Not even close IMHO. We need o-line and LB well before TE. It is a need though. About equal with FS. How we approach free agency determines whether taking a TE early would be expedient or not though. IMHO if we let Cameron go we will find a reasonably priced vet to play alongside Simms in which case I doubt we draft a TE early.
