Tiki Barber Returns!

I would be fine if the Jets took a look, right now we don't have any spots at RB available but if we didn't have McKnight I'd be happy if we gave Tiki a small deal. Why not take a look? It's not like he'd be commanding big $.

The best organizations look everywhere for players.

I'd be more worried as a div rival if you had Tiki than I am w/ you guys having Ricky.

Def, gotta keep your options open..the minute you overlook players, is the minute they comeback to bite you... Look at Danny Woodhead...One teams trash is another teams treasure...Tomlinson too for that matter....Just to say no we dont want him without looking at him is dumb. I think Tiki can still put work in, He had alot of carries late in his career but I feel that the time off would have helped him, provided that he stayed in pretty good shape..Which it looks like he has...

You have got to be effing kidding me. To the OP -- please clarify that you are not seriously interested in picking up Tiki Barber?

The guy needs to schedule a pro day just to show he can still play. If he can, then fine give him a look. If not, there's always the UFL.

the guy is like 36 and hasnt played in what 4 years? no thanks. its not like he was barry sanders. the guy is a fumble machine too.

Name one professional running back that had an iota of success after the age of 34.

Then tell me what makes Tiki Barber in any way shape or form comparable.

Then let's talk about how his ego and overall character fit into our team, or any other team.

After that, then tell me why he should warrant a vet minimum contract over somebody that is 20 that we bring in, even as a UFA, at 1/5th the price.

How does Tiki Barber sound now?

I heard OJ is broke from legal fee's maybe we can get him on work release!

Pathetic...
People just post to post!

If we can't sign Tiki.....maybe we can sign Barry Sanders or Emmitt Smith....right?

such a fall from grace for Tiki.

1.Burnt all bridges with the Giants organization trashing Coughlin and Eli every chance he got. He is now hated by pretty much all Giant fans.
2.Loses all credibility when the Giants won the Super Bowl
3.Called the one NBC analyst the c word during the olympic update
4.Leaves his wife, who was 8 months pregnant, for a 23 year old intern.
5.Gets fired from NBC.

His last three years in the league he accumulated well over 2000 yds per season rushing and receiving.

I'm serious. If he works out for the Dolphins and runs a 4.4 and shows most of his former quickness, I'd like to see them give him a two yr incentive ladden contract and use him in a limited role.

If the dolphins signed Michael Bush as well, the Dolphins wouldn't even need to use a pick on a RB; they could acquire a rookie free agent or two and give them a chance to beat out Sheets or Hilliard, or at least make the PS.

The Dolphins could use their top picks on other positions like OL or a pass rusher, BPA.

He could surprise.

Consider this: His identical twin brother is still in the league playing at a high level. C'mon, actually think about that for a minute. Rhonde is still playing hard, and he hasn't had a five yr rest.

Identical twins are just that, identical in a frightening number of ways. It is reasonable to assume Tiki has the same enduring strength that Rhonde displays.

He wasn't just good before he retired, he was great. Go look at his stats for his last three years. Not only that, like him or not, his is a very bright guy and won't struggle learning a new offense.

Damn, I remember he was doing analysis over here for the Superbowl and the presenter asked him if he ever thought of going back after seeing how Ronde is still playing at a high level, he never actually denied he would. Didn't think much of it at the time but thats a shock.

Way to quote the PFT article with his stats.

Again, give me a break. His twin brother is a cornerback. He hasn't been hit in the legs/chest/abdomen/helmet 4,567 times.

And don't forget to make sure you consider that the guy thinks he is smarter than he is (sound familiar?) and is essentially a locker room cancer. Oh yeah, and like someone said, has fumblitis. And he'll get paid at least a million on a vet minimum deal.

I think this might be the most ridiculous "we should pick up so and so" thread I've seen in a few years.

I still hope we can get Zach Thomas to come out of retirement, he would make a great strong safety.

OK, point by point.

1. I didn't quote any article. I looked up the stats at the NFL website.

2.The 2nd point of this post is absurd. It's trying to say that a guy who hasn't been hit in over 4 yrs is more beat up than a guy whose been starting almost every game for the last several yrs in a row.

3.Tiki is smart, deal with it. As far as fumbles go; in almost 900 carries in his last two years in the NFL, Tiki lost 2 fumbles. Not only is that not fumblitius, it is super excellent.

4. Ya, productive players who do well at their workouts get paid some money. Tiki has just as much right as the college guys who played well in college and performed well at the combine, to get a decent pay check.

I think it is obvious which post is really ridiculous.
