Tiki Barber Returns!

Who ever moved this thread should readily admit their predjudice. A thread about an available free agent RB for our beloved Dolphins who have at least two gaping holes at the running back position is about as relevant and specific to the Dolphins as you can get.

Shame on you.

Well if Tiki can come back, lets get Marino back under center!

Cmon DAN!

OK, point by point.

1. I didn't quote any article. I looked up the stats at the NFL website.

2.The 2nd point of this post is absurd. It's trying to say that a guy who hasn't been hit in over 4 yrs is more beat up than a guy whose been starting almost every game for the last several yrs in a row.

3.Tiki is smart, deal with it. As far as fumbles go; in almost 900 carries in his last two years in the NFL, Tiki lost 2 fumbles. Not only is that not fumblitius, it is super excellent.

4. Ya, productive players who do well at their workouts get paid some money. Tiki has just as much right as the college guys who played well in college and performed well at the combine, to get a decent pay check.

I think it is obvious which post is really ridiculous.

1. Suuuure. Per PFT: He capped his career with more than 2,000 combined rushing and receiving yards for three straight seasons. Per Elliot's Immediate analysis of the news: His last three years in the league he accumulated well over 2000 yds per season rushing and receiving.

2. Again, while you dig through NFL.com for stats, please share with us just one NFL running back that has had success past the age of 34. I'm asking you seriously, because I don't know of any.

3. I think the first part of this went way over your head, so we'll leave it at that. Maybe you are right on the fumbleitis, and that is just a perception he picked up. But again, please find me that player that had success, or at least how Tiki just happens to be that special guy that will defy the entire history of the NFL's running backs.

4. I didn't say anything about workouts, I said vet minimum. We can sign a UFA off the street that has more upside than Tiki Barber, and I'm saying that we don't have the room on our roster to take a retread who burned all his bridges and thinks he is smarter than the coach, who is on the wrong side of thirty. Oops, I meant the wrong side of thirty five. AKA the land of the freakin' blueberries for running backs.

It's like "Hey, what big names can I bring in the door?"

It would be absolutely hilarious if after everything I said they sign the guy, and he tears it up. I'm going out on a limb and saying that the chances of that happening are equivalent to Tiki Barber ever sniffing a 4 YPC average again.

Not going to happen.

I agree with whomever moved it. If the Buccaneers are actually hesitant to sign him, why in God's name should we even bother to talk about it! I wish it stayed in the main forum for the simple sake of more people reading your forthcoming research on NFL running backs that have had success beyond the age of 34.

That's a great idea. I hope the Jests do sign him! He would get your team over the hump I'm sure...

So the Jets will sign Barber, Ricky Williams....anyone else? They can have 2 OL on the line and 9 RBs in the backfield. Try and stop that!

Tiki Barber, until someone hears otherwise, has nothing to do with the Dolphins.

would rather go after barry sanders

There are seriously people who believe that signing a 36 year old RB who hasnt played in 4 years and is a known cancer is a good idea? It would cement our status as the biggest joke of a franchise in football. This board makes me very glad that 2012 is nearly here.

And yet another voice of reason. It really is the most ridiculous thing I've heard on this board in a couple years. I'm still waiting on Elliot's new research. it's been a day now, he had plenty of time to find an NFL running back that has had success after age 34. Can't wait.

The cancer stuff is overblown, the Giants were not great in 2007 they just got hot at the right time. They also had good RBs on that team ready to replace Tiki. The Giants w/o that "cancer" haven't won a playoff game since 2007 and the Giants did make a SB w/ Tiki.

All this post really does is reiterate what was previously written and personally attack Elliott 1, calling him a liar.

Listen, I have absolutely no problem at all quoting articles. Why would anyone?? However, in this case, I simply didn't. Why is it even an issue ?

Why is it so hard to believe that someone whose interest is peeked would type a players name into a box and observe the NFL's stats on the guy? Tiki's enormous yardage accumulation is glaringly obvious.

Why not just post the hate and leave me out of it. I simply believe Barber could help the Dolphins.

Sorry if I seemed to call you a liar, as you speak in the third person. It really wasn't my intent. The heart of the issue remains.

Please name a running back that has had success past the age of 34. That's all I ask. PLEASE!

His cancer status may have been overblown in the lockerroom, but on his way out to the today show he couldn't stop talking poorly about his old team. Screaming how stupid the coach was, and that young Eli was never going to win anything.

I'm no Giant fan, but I had to laugh when the Giants won the next year without him. You can also blame many things on the Giants not doing much after SB, I don't think Tiki would be the piece they need for anything.
