tim couch status?

He's not yet ready to try out for teams

...about 10 teams are interested when he is ready, but none offer the prospect of competing to start like we might. Weblink I've seen suggest hes a couple of weeks from being evaluated by teams.

so wheres the :link: ?

there is a reason that Couch and Gus suck! Enough of going after these sorry quarterbacks. I want Rivers or a high first round quarterback next year.

He was at the Giants camp yesterday, the Giants are worried about Eli's elbow and are showing more interest in Couch. The story says so far it seems like Couch still likes Miami best, but who knows? Money talks!

Every seems to think a high first rounder will solve our QB problem, with our luck, he'll be another Ryan Leaf..the only high rounder I'd be interested in is Rivers, even Leinhart doesn't impress me that much..he's playing college football aganist inferior teams than the NFL..he'll go though the rookie learning curve like everyone else and you guys are too impatient for that.

We don't want Tim Couch. He is just another mediocre quarterback that may be able to win games, however will nver lead a team to a championship or be a franchise quarterback. I think we are just going to have to tough it out this season with what we got, and look towards the draft. We should not sign another backup like Garrard(sp?) or Davey.

Couch

The injury occurred on the same day former Browns quarterback Tim Couch visited Giants Stadium for an interview and workout. The No. 1 pick in the 1999 NFL Draft had shoulder surgery in February and is trying to catch on with an NFL team after being cut by the Packers a year ago.
``We are interested in anyone that we feel is in a possible position to make us a better team,'' Giants coach Tom Coughlin said Sunday. ``We continue to have that philosophy, so if that situation presents itself down the road, I'm sure there would be some interest.'' ``Tim did a good job and that is a plus for us,'' Coughlin said. ``Getting snaps with the first team or whatever, will have to wait and see.''

any news or updates?

This off the newswire today:

According to published reports, the Dolphins will bring in Tim Couch for a workout. The former #1 overall pick was out of football last year, but has garnered interest from a handful of teams after undergoing successful shoulder surgery in February.

not sure when but he will evidently be in sometime in the not to distant future.

I think the jury is still out on Couch, or he wouldn't garner this much interest. He played hurt last year and was thrown into a starting role as a rookie in a loosing town.

I'd take a shot.

Not another retread! We cant keep picking guys who just cant cut it in this league.

Unfortunately we're stuck with Gus and A.J. this season. Both QB who arent playing to win the job... but are playing not to lose. Sound familiar?

We need to look to the draft. And not Leinhart. i think there is a guy we should look at who wont command Top 10 money... who can come in here and become the future.

The funny thing is the Bills are also interested in him, and the Bill fans have been killing us because we are interested.
