not sure if the below is referencing them but I would think so.

(On if any Dolphins players are not at their ideal weight) – “We have a couple of guys that have been injured and guys that are injured and inactive, especially if they are big guys, it’s more difficult for them to come back. We’re not disappointed in where they are, we just know that we have a plan that we have to implement to try to get them to where they need to be by when we get started. In some of those cases that may be difficult to do too, relative to their injuries. We just do the best we can to get them as ready as we can and go from there.

I think that's definitely Bowens. It could be that there isn't anybody else but he chose to talk in the plural to avoid singling out a guy he's probably not counting on getting back anyway and who is popular in the locker room/among the fans.

Chester was quoted as saying that he's overweight but that he's not too worried about it. He's been out a whole year (almost), he probably eats quite a bit.

He probably eats quite a bit? I'm not sure how legit that is can I have a link? J/K man.

With our DT's out and with an overstock at DE's, I think the 3-4 might come sooner than maybe even Saban would have liked....

That's Bowens. You'd think a guy with a bad back would keep himself in better shape so as to not put more stress on his back. Yet every year he walked into camp needing to lose weight.

We have even fewer guys capable of playing a NT sort of position than we have DTs suitable for the 4-3. The best case for the 3-4 is probably Chester unless one of those FAs is just a monster who can fill space.

I don't buy that were playing much 3-4 either. I think Saban's just going for a bigger one gap pressure style 4-3 instead of the 2 gap vanilla play your assignments 4-3. Of course I could just be talking outta my butt (sorry ace ventura is on).

If anything were overstocked with DE's so Carter can help out in a 4-3 DT system.

The problem is if you have Carter playing one DT spot you definitely need a two-gapper playing the other spot. See what happened with the Eagles when they played with two one-gap DTs. They got RUN OVER...

We need Chester/Bowens both back.

To be fair as far as big Tim Bowens is concerned, there is only so much you can do when you have the back that he has. He's probably constantly getting treatment on that. Any rigorous workout regimen to shed pounds would probably irritate the back again. He's at a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. I dont know how effective he will be this season.

Maybe thats why Zgonina is still around since there are concerns with those two guys.

I dont think some of you understand, these guys are almost always out of shape. Last time they played, they were out of shape. In 2003 both Timbo and Chester were over 350 pounds.

In an article they said Chester was about 380 in 2003.. That's a lot of beef

theyre both hurt and trying to get back to 100%. i can understand them not being in shape. thats what training camp is for anyway.
