Lets stop being faithful to joey and jason.. Its time to unleash the best kept secret... Cameron Wake! going against the bills, he had 3 sacks.. Now, lets do it again this week! Then, lets reward him with a start against the patriots. Lets throw the kitchen sink at the pats this time! We had them where we wanted them last time.. we barely lost to them in new england.. These next two games are big, REAL big.. Our post season lives depend on it...

Cam Wake should be starting every game IMO. I don't want to hear about how he's unexperienced vs the run or in coverage etc... JT has been GREAT vs the run but none of our LB's can cover and JP has never been good vs the run. Wake IMO is Easily the teams best pass rusher and why he's not in At Least on every passing down is just such a head scratcher to me.

I'd like to see more of Wake, but Joey had a solid game against Buffalo and Jason is also playing well. I think with the injury to Fergie, we will need more veteran leadership on D than we've had all year.

If JPeezy continues to have games like Thursday....then Cam is fine right where he is....situational rusher. If not, its time he starts

To the two people pointing out what a good game Porter had, did he really? He had two sacks and some tackles about 8 yards downfield but other than that he was pretty much a non factor. I saw him rushing the passer and getting nowhere near the QB on far too many plays. With Wake when he's in he's in the backfield more times than not.

Yes he is but Wake he doesn't have "big time dance like Joey"

Considering Porter had a solid game last time look for the same old thing, that is don't expect to see too much of Wake unfortunately:(

The underuse of Cam Wake is getting to criminal levels.

He only played 10 snaps against the Panthers, 9 of which were pass rushes. Yet he had 3 QB Pressures, 1 QB Hit and 1 Sack. Unbelievable.

It's time for a "WAKE UP" call...

When I read the title of this thread.....this article came to mind...

In the first half of a big divisional game against the New England Patriots, the New York Jets came out sluggish, getting outscored by 17 points and converting just two first downs over the first 30 minutes. Maybe it's because the team is still tired from last night.

Late last night, a fire alarm was pulled in the Jets' team hotel, rousing members of the team out of their slumber and forcing them to vacate their rooms. Except there was no fire and it was the Jets' team hotel. You do the math.

The same thing happened to the Buffalo Bills before a Week 1 game in New England. It sounds like there's a fan (or fans) who still like to pull middle school pranks to help support the team. Or maybe it's not a fan at all. Judging by his past history, I wonder if Bill Belichick has an alibi for last night?

Like team, like fans.....New England Cheaters

It seems to me that at the least, Wake has earned himself a spot in a rotation with Porter and JT. I think there are spots where he can be a game changer. You can't ever have too many defensive playmakers. The guy is talented, and I can only see him getting better.

Wake has been playing an awful lot lately. He's not an every down player, but I spot his number consistently in there on the pass rush. And while he hasn't gotten a sack for every good play he's made, he is making his presence felt and forcing plays constantly.

I was calling for more Wake early on, but the team has answered my calls.

10 snaps is not an "awful lot" in my books. Maybe you meant an "awful little"?

My eyes saw that every time I expected Wake to be on the field, he was. If that was only ten snaps, then I'd say that was all that was appropriate. I certainly didn't expect to see Wake in there on first down against one of the most dangerous rushing attacks in the league, because it would have been a bad idea for a guy known for being weak in run support.

Wake is a pass rush specialist and has been used like that. Maybe at some point he will emerge as more than that, but IMO the only reason to complain right now would be if Wake wasn't in there in big pass rush situations. He has.

to be honest...against the pass he has been one of the best...everyone keeps saying he can't cover and **** but his pass rush has been great...in games where he actually plays he get's crazy pressure...

against the bills, you know like 2-3 sacks and a bunch of pressure....against the pats, only like 10 plays and he goes beast mode....against the bucs he had 9 pressures a sack and some QB hits...last week against Otah I believe he had a sack but it was rewarded to Porter....but he still had a bunch of pressure....the only plays i've noticed him in against the run he hasn't been bad either....he mostly played the run in the bills game last time and jackson and lynch didn't do much....the only bad game I can see him having was one of the jets games where he got pushed around a bit but he didn't even play for real...

edit-
numbers so far I believe Cam Wake-4.5 sacks 15 pressures 3 QB hits ..(5.5 sacks if the one against the panthers ends up being counted and not given to porter) on only 100 plays..(these numbers don't include his numbers against the run, but footballoutsiders should have that in their book after the year is over...
